GREEN BAY - The Green Bay School Board has approved a large number of retirement requests from teachers and administrators.
With the future of the state budget uncertain, 140 teachers and 15 administrators asked to join the emeritus program. That works out to about 1 out of every 12 teachers in the district.

Business and industry do this phase out as well...different means and ways but the end result remains the same...of getting High Paid people off the payrolls.
I know of a company who relocated a Gen. Mgr. a 2 hour drive from his home to work. The idea was he would get tired of the travel and retire earlier....this was implimented two or three years before his retirement and pension were to go into affect.
Ok...going there my third time...hahahahah
my wife and I are in aerospace (big company non union) usually considered to have good benefits. Both over thirty years and getting ready to retire. The best we can expect to receive on our pensions is around 50% salary. We pay a portion of our health insurance. When we retire, we have to pay for a larger share of our health insurance plus perscription drug which is at leats 1/3 more with no dental or vision coverage. We need to TAX the excessive benefits of these union clowns.
Now that would be just deserts this way the retirees who lose their pensions can join the rest of us in the rice patties

Telling numbers. The MSM makes it look like nearly all of Wisconsin approves of this infintile behavior of spoiled government workers.
Please add me to both of your Homeschool ping lists.
My daughter taught for 2 years in a parochial school after graduating from college, but is now doing a magnificent job teaching our 4 grandchildren at home.
Homeschoolers make significant sacrifices to benefit their children. We couldn’t be prouder of our daughter.

It’s the Poll of Dorian Gray; the results age but the graph stays the same.
But good riddance to them.
I just voted. Right now it’s “NO” over 3:1 against the “Yes”.
Good call. :)
Like your nic, too!
This is why the Senate ‘rats are in Illinois.
They are giving the WI public union workers time to shore up their fiscal futures before the inevitable happens.
I thought they wanted to cut teachers. This is a win. Now they can hire cheaper teachers. I don’t get it. 140 teachers retiring should be considered a good thing.
So what is this, elective early retirement?
As Steve Miller said, “Go on, take the money and run...”
When “we the people” are forced to pay others to luxuriate in open-ended retirements, “we the people” are increasingly made SLAVES to so-called “public servants.”
This is not tolerable nor sustainable and it will eventually be clear to us that those who luxuriate would best be made to disappear—either from the “pension” roster or ...
Well.
Others might accept the idea of being enslaved. Not me.
