MADISON -- The 14 missing Senate Democrats have until 4 p.m. today to return to the Capitol or face apprehension tantamount to arrest “with or without force."
GOP Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) ordered the apprehension of the senators who fled the state two weeks ago to Illinois to avoid a vote on Gov. Scott Walker's budget repair bill.
Republicans voted 19-0 to give the Democrats until 4 p.m. Thursday to appear before the Senate.
"They have pushed us to the edge of a constitutional crisis," Fitzgerald said. "We simply cannot have democracy be held hostage because the minority wants to prove a point."
The Senate also voted for a "call of the house," which is the mechanism used to compel senators to return to the chamber.
That means the Senate sergeant at arms Ted Blazel can "with or without force" and with or without the help of any law enforcement officers in the state to take them into custody and bring them to the state Capitol.

I haven’t read all replies, but I don’t feel really good about this. The Dems will use this as a “martyr” moment and the media will willingly comply.

A few years ago, I would have agreed with that statement, but one of our sons was a police officer for 5 years, and he said the union was the only thing that defended officers in any kind of dispute, because cowardly politicians are all too willing to throw cops to the wolves. Cops can’t even depend on their superiors on the force to stand up for them, because some chiefs are primarily concerned with sucking up to the mayor.
There would have to be a way to protect cops from false charges other than having to hire their own attorney.
The left has been after pubbies trying to do thier jobs, so I for one would help hunt them down starting tommorow.

I think the American media is withholding a lot of information on Obama and the things happening around the world. They don’t want Americans to know the truth because it would shine a light on Democrats.
The best examples are how they didn’t talk about Acorn until they had to defend them and they weren’t going to mention the Tea Party protests till they got big. They also won’t touch certain stories about global economy and protests around the world happening now. There is so much they are withholding. It’s like they want to dumb down the public.
Send Dog the Bounty Hunter out of state to get them, let Chuck Norris tag along, and film it for TV.
Are these clowns paying their own travel expenses on this extended vacation? Are the unions paying them? If so, this money should be considered a bribe, or at the very least, illegal campaign contributions.
I wonder what Pelosi and Reid would have done if all the Republicans fled to Georgia in the middle of the Health Care vote last year? I don’t think they, or the MSM, would have been very accomodating!

Yea right. That’s BS and the Dems know it. The Governor has made a fool of himself already by issuing his return within 24 hours or else statements. Well the 24 hours are long past and nothing has happened. Now we hear they will be drug back by force? Simply won’t happen. Once again we are making idle threats that both sides know are just unenforceable bluff. This kind of stuff makes the right just look silly. Once again the left is running circles around us.
