Holding a semiautomatic rifle aloft, New York Sen. Eric Adams says the state should outlaw 30-bullet clips for them to help prevent another incident like the Arizona shooting that killed six people and wounded Congresswoman Gabrielle Gifford and 12 others.
Adams, a former New York City police captain who owns three guns, noted Wednesday that a 1994 law banned the 30-round clip except for those made previously. He says 10-round magazines are legal.
Adams and other lawmakers have introduced legislation to ban the clips in New York regardless of when they were made. He bought one at a suburban Albany gun store recently and there are no markings on the clip to identify when it was made.

Of course, he doesn't want to BAN guns, just some common sense laws on mag possession.
The fact that he made police captain convinced me he was an affirmative action hire.
Bullets, not cartridges. Clips, not magazines. Stupid... all.
A madman on Long Island just hit a light pole in an accident and when EMS arrived he began shooting. He had a carload of weapons of every description. To my knowledge NONE had the large cap magazine that the pols are trying to ban.
Let’s not confuse the pols with reality tho.
Once again evidence that the police are not "on our side."
If I am using the incorrect terminology here, sorry.
I know nothing!!!
ARRRGH! THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS A “BULLET” CLIP!
EDUCATE YOURSELF BEFORE REPORTING, YOU MORON!
(The journalist, not you, SAF).
We should ban NY politicians with a vocabulary of 30 words first.
I’ll bet you a dollar the semi-automatic weapon he ‘held aloft’ is magazine-fed, NOT “clip” fed.
To any realistic chance on an effect, they should ban libtards.
To have any realistic chance of an effect, they should ban libtards.
just saw on fox that in NJ the police and firemen are now protesting cuts.
None of these public services should been union.
THERE IS NO FRIGGING MONEY.
They complain about raising taxes , they complain now about cuts.
Do they even teach economics any more?
Maybe it is high time for the north east and some states like IL to merge with Quebec and all the loons, scruffy smelly layabout , illegals, homosexuals , cross dressers etc can move up to their new liberal progressive utopia while the rest of America can have a decent well run , common sense country
Ask ANY NYPD cop what they think of this guy and they will spit on the ground and walk away.
He hates cops. Pure and simple. I cannot stress that enough.
My idea too. Give em NY, MA, ME, RI, NJ and CT. Give IL to Ontario.
1) New York banned all High Capacity magazines but grandfathered those manufactured prior to the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban. They said, "DON'T WORRY! We're not after YOUR magazines. We just want those evil people's magazines."
2) Then a few years pass, and New York says, "WHOOPSY! We lied. We want yours too. Ha ha!"
I am soooooo glad to be out of that liberal socialist shithole of a state.
All in favor of banning 30 “bullet clips” say Aye. Any opposed?
Okay, let’s move on to the next order of business ...
What’s a “bullet clip”?
Ordinarily, if you don’t have a clue about the subject matter, people defer to experts, or educate themselves. But when it comes to liberals and guns, they revel in their own stupidity.
I did an experiment. I left a 30 round clip in a cage with baby bunnies and newly hatched chicks, the sweetest most vulnerable creatures I could think of. And would you believe it? Not a single furry, fluffy, cuddly critter was even distracted, let alone harmed during the entire course of the experiment. I’m not sure if I was using the wrong caliber, or if I needed to use a clip with a camo-print pattern on it. Either way, I get the feeling these 30-round clips are not as dangerous as lawmakers make them out to be.
IL, MI and MN to Ontario. Exchange them for AB, SK and MB.
