(CNSNews.com) - First Lady Michelle Obama will hold another “listen-only” conference call with reporters this afternoon, continuing a pattern of holding events for the media where access is sharply limited.
When public figures in Washington, D.C., hold telephone briefings for the press—which are designed to attract press coverage for some item the briefer is seeking to promote--they routinely allow reporters listening to the briefing to ask at least a few questions.
The First Lady appears to be establishing a new routine, where she speaks and--from beginning to end--reporters mutely listen.

This must be really ticking off the press.
They want to adore her but they can’t ask her questions? They must be tying themselves into all kinds of rhetorical pretzels, trying to justify it yet hating it.

This is going to be real interesting to see here. 600 plus days of them in power. I do not see either of them answering any questions ever. Well not off the cuff. Their handlers fear them off the TOTUS or script.
The press should either not attend, or attend and write about how hideously she dresses. Eventually, she’d get the message.

She could text or fax the info to them instead.
What a waste of time and manpower.
Does lack of interest in anything she does constitute racism by default on the part of the press? That is the only reason I can see which would motivate a press reporter to attend an event in which questions could not be answered. In reality, being reduced to a television camera is what they become at such events.
Imho, this "listen only" briefing is the height of arrogance and disrespect for not only the press, but for all citizens of this country.
At first I thought that she’d be the one doing the listening.
Why is she holding these conferences calls? What has she to say that anyone cares about?
