Two people were killed and two were injured, at least one critically, in a shooting attack on U.S. military personnel at 3:20 p.m. local time March 2 at Germanys Frankfurt International Airport. According to breaking news reports, an armed attacker boarded a U.S. military bus idling in front of Terminal 2 and began shooting. The two killed were a U.S. soldier and the driver of the bus, whose nationality is unclear. The perpetrator is alleged to be from Kosovo, of Albanian ethnicity and 21 years old, according to German media sources. According to news reports, the U.S. forces involved in the attack were on their way to Afghanistan.
There have been plots against U.S. military targets in Germany in recent years. The attack fits in the category of armed jihadist assault similar to what American-born Yemeni cleric Anwar al-Awlaki called for in mid-2010 in jihadist Internet chat rooms. Al-Awlaki had been tied to U.S. Maj. Nidal Hasan, who was charged with the November 2009 Fort Hood shooting.
The attack in Frankfurt appears to have been a soft-target attack. Soft targets are vulnerable to attack due to the absence of adequate security or standoff distance. Areas at airports outside the security check-in points are such targets. STRATFOR has for some time predicted that militants would seek out such targets, especially considering their fixation on airplanes. The recent bombing at Domodedovo International Airport in Moscow, for example, targeted the international arrivals area where families, friends and drivers awaited travelers emerging from the terminal. Such areas are difficult to secure because doing so would require essentially cordoning off the entire airport.
If reports of the attackers ethnicity are true, this would not be the first time ethnic Albanians have joined international jihad...

“gunman”
no.
Angry death cult member following orders from fellow headchoppers.
I wonder how this would have been handled in Germany in 1919? I don’t think they had PC back then. We occupied the Rhineland back then. I say 1919 because we all know how it would have been handled in 1939, pretty much like Putin would have handle it now.
You have it wrong, apparently.
“The German news agency DAPD quoted Rhein, the security minister who rushed to the scene of the shooting, as saying there were no indications of a terrorist attack.”
It’s good that he could make such a thorough investigation so quickly.
Ping!
He wanted to express his gratitude for what we did for Kosovo.
Gee, ya 'reckon? What was your first clue?
Perhaps he was just another "earthling, with an anger management problem".
It will be interesting to see how the media buries the Muslim angle. Like “You’re f***ing dead,” it won’t be reported.
Well said, marron.
Unfortunately, and tragically, the U.S. helped the wrong people in the Balkans. This will become unavoidably obvious as time goes by.
The Serbs knew exactly what they were dealing with. They tried to tell the rest of the world, but to no avail. There was no penetrating the preset agenda. Now the rest of the world will have to deal with the huge errors in judgment made by the western democracies.

I guess this is the thanks we get for protecting their sorry butts from Serbia................
I flew through Frankfurt on the way to Skopje, Macedonia a few years ago. I thought security was very tight. Once you cleared security from the terminal, they loaded you onto busses and drove you to your airplane. The airplanes were located FAR away from the terminal buildings. On the way home to the US, 1 hour before your flight, they cleared and inspected the seating area, and you had to go through a security inspection again. The seating area was then closed off to all others that were not on your flight.
For those of us who knew better at the time of Clinton’s Balkan buffoonery, this is a sad day. It is only the beginning of the puss that will ooze from that festering sin.
You’re welcome, “wonders”. None of this surprises me one bit.

I wonder if there will come a point when President Clinton will start feeling a bit uncomfortable about the “Kosovars” having erected a statue to him in their “homeland”.
With the black market organ harvesting crimes and now this, on top of the myriad of previous incidents of Albanian and Kosovar crimes, I would say that the time for feeling a bit uncomfortable has come.

Ethnicity is of no importance. islam is the driving engine.
That was a dark time during my military career. I don't think I ever had any hesitation about getting up in the morning and putting on my uniform except during the klinton wag the dog war against Serbia. I wasn't a rated officer so at least I could hide behind the fact that it wasn't me dropping the bombs.
