Shell make you wait
I am a queen, and I demand to be treated like a queen, Jackson Lee once said, and apparently she wasnt kidding. Her employees describe waiting for their boss for hours on end, sometimes late into the night, while she attends events or even sits in her office watching TV.
You worked really, really, really late for her. When she was in town, you were in the office. So that meant, two, three, four oclock in the morning we were there, one former staffer said.
She liked to hold her staff meetings she would individually pull in the deputy chief of staff, myself and some other people individually to go over different parts of her day. But she would literally wait until super late at night. None of us could go home, because she wouldnt tell when she was coming back or if she wasnt. And if she called and you didnt answer, it was like World War III, the source said.
Jackson Lees designated driver picks her up at her apartment one block from her office each morning and waits for her outside wherever she goes throughout the days and nights.

Jackson Lee accused the white agent at the gate of racism, claiming she wouldnt have to deal with this stuff when Barack Obama became president. She then filed a formal complaint with the Secret Service, which prompted an investigation. A Treasury official later explained that the accusation had been dismissed because the agent in question was Hispanic, not white.
She also goes to every Texas-related event in the Capitol and tries to take credit for whatever has been done, money appropriated etc. when she has had nothing to do with the subject at hand. Among the Texas congressional delegation, Dims and Republicans alike, it is a joke, and she is a joke.
She can read?
The bar of soap is clean and smells good. That’s a difference.
The sad part, there is a whole congressional district of Sheila Jackson Lees.
I have a friend who used to work in a bank in Houston. One day sjl comes in to cash a check. My friend didn’t know her from a box of rocks and asked for her ID. She got the “Don’t you know who I am???!!!! How dare you ask for my ID.” My friend stood her ground and made her show it.
Congressional staffers are, for the most part, salaried employees and are not paid overtime. Only the lowest on the totem poll, data entry, phone answering, etc. get overtime. Everyone else just sucks it up. They can keep track of their hours and claim comp time, but that pretty much puts an end to their career advancement. This is one of the reasons they bail out to K Street and the associations.
Worth highlighting.
Is there any wonder this country is in the mess it's in when ignoramuses like this run things?
Can't believe I'm saying this but that green hat is actually a good idea for identifying a staffer if you're not quite sure who it is. More secure than the staffer holding up a sign with her name on it too. Maybe the only good idea she's had after all those years in Congress.
Jackson Lees speeches are frequent and eccentric enough to have occasioned a game in other Capitol Hill offices.
Every day, one staffer puts money into a Sheila Jackson Lee jar.
If she speaks on the House floor, as she usually does, the jar moves to the next desk.
On the rare day she doesnt speak, the staffer holding the jar wins all the money
Stupid ones.
Unintended consequence of the Voting Rights Act..

It shouldn’t be too hard for a couple of the staffers, who know that they are going to quit, set her up with some kind of video sting.
It would be simple, have a small video camera with adequate miking wait in some place where she is going to be, and have someone push a few of her buttons. It could be on YouTube in minutes.
Better yet, store up a few and have them leak out as a series.
Gosh that would be fun.
Might be fun to pass out dozens of green hats to random people at the airport waiting to pick someone up on the appointed day. It might produce an epic storm of 'Who are you? Get the hell out of my car, lady!'.
This country began with ousting royalty, now we elect royalty to Congress.
All peoples deserve their respective governments.
Sounds like (among her many other faults/flaws) she doesn’t know how to tell time.
Someone once said: ‘You can judge a person three ways-
Who did you marry?
How do you deal with death?
How do you treat subordinates?
I’ve never heard anything about real queens in the modern era like Queen Elizabeth treating her staff in anything like this manner. I’ve met two members of royalty (not England’s) and both of them were reserved, dignified, intelligent, polite and considerate- including and especially to people who were serving them.
