In a radio interview on Monday, potential 2012 presidential candidate Mike Huckabee repeatedly claims that President Obama grew up in Kenya.
A spokesman for Huckabee later told CBS News that the former Arkansas governor misspoke.
In an interview on WOR's "The Steve Malzberg Show," Huckabee made reference to Mr. Obama's "having grown up in Kenya" and spoke of him growing up "with a Kenyan father and grandfather" - despite the fact that Mr. Obama grew up largely in Hawaii and barely knew his father at all.
In responding to Malzberg's question about whether "we deserve to know more about this man" and his origins, Huckabee responded that "I would love to know more."
"What I know is troubling enough," Huckabee said of the president. "And one thing that I do know is his having grown up in Kenya, his view of the Brits, for example, very different than the average American."
A spokesman for Huckabee later said the former governor "meant to say the President grew up in Indonesia."
In the interview, Huckabee also pointed to the fact that Mr. Obama in 2009 returned a bust of Winston Churchill to the British Embassy, describing the act as "a great insult" to the British. (He did not mention that the bust had been on loan.)
Do you think maybe that Huck is off his meds?
Maybe he is wising up to the facts about Obama.
Yah, I think he stepped on Mr. Wiggly with those remarks.
“””In the interview, Huckabee also pointed to the fact that Mr. Obama in 2009 returned a bust of Winston Churchill to the British Embassy, describing the act as “a great insult” to AMERICA.”””
Right from the git go his personal agenda was at play.
LOL. Huckabee has spent the last six months smooching Michelle’s and Barrak’s arses so maybe he’s trying to provide some balance here by currying favor with the “Birther” vote.
#5 and nobody has a picture of “Toast” up yet?
Huck said: “And one thing that I do know is his having grown up in Kenya, his view of the Brits, for example, very different than the average American.”
If he MEANT to say: “...having grown up in Indonesia,” then the rest of his comment would have made no sense?
Yeah, he should have said “oops my bad — I mean Indonesia, in madrassas.”
Well, the Bummer certainly seems to have a soft spot in his heart for Kenya and its history of trials and tribulations. But IIRC he did not spend a long time there. It’s more a product of his search for a “black” identity.
‘...despite the fact that Mr. Obama grew up largely in Hawaii..’
Sez who?
You can't say: He grew up in Kenya. Had a Kenyan father. Had a Kenyan grandfather. And there was Mau-Mau involvement. And that's why he hates the British. Because of the Kenyan connection. Because he grew up in Kenya.
And then try to recover with "Slip of the tongue. I meant Indonesia."
Huckabee clearly thinks that Obama grew up in Kenya. He's a moron.
If Huckabee had been following FR he would have a pretty fair idea of what cultural and national background the Bummer hails from, even though details are still foggy to me. Does someone in the FR crowd keep an Obama life time line record, with notes about disputed events and periods? Maybe Huckabee should be alerted. I don’t think Huck’s going to end up passing muster with conservatives in the upcoming primaries due to his big-government leanings, but it would be great to see multiple parties in the primary debates up to speed on Obama.
Not that Huckabee ever had a chance at being President, but his “misspeak” dooms him to a life as a FOX network employee.
Huckleberry needs to shut his pie-hole. I wish he’d go away. I’m not voting for him or any other retreads from 2008, including Palin. We need new and better choices, a fresh start. Go away Huckleberry, do us all a favor!!!

That old Italian guy knew Huckabee, apparently.
