Fox News says the United States has deployed some Marines and two amphibious ships to help with the evacuations in Libya.
The news comes one day after the U.S. moved naval and air forces closer to Libya and said all options were open, including patrols of the North African nation's skies to protect its citizens from their ruler, Muammar Qaddafi.
The Obama administration is demanding that Gadhafi relinquish power immediately.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton warned that Libya is at risk of collapsing into a "protracted civil war" amid increasingly violent clashes between the two sides.
On Tuesday, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice cast doubt on Qaddafi's sanity and ability to lead and said the international community will continue pressuring Qaddafi with embargos and sanctions until he steps down.

Agreed. And Obama should have had all Americans out by now. The Chinese did a better job evacuating then Odumbo. It falls on his shoulders if any Americans lose their lives because of his gross incompetance in evacuating our citizens. Now he calls in the Marines to cover his sorry behind. I guess, Obama would rather start a world war then lose his peace prize.

Could this be “taking resources that we could use to capture or kill bin Laden” and sending them to another country that never attacked us.
I don’t see why this is necessary. Damn it. If they are sending them in to get WMD, fine, say so. If they are going in to protect the oil fields so we get oil, fine, say so.
But sending our troops into Libya to “prevent a civil war” is damned madness.
I view this with great alarm and trepidation.
So where were these jackwagons (Hitlery, Obama, etc.) when another dictator was killing his people (Saddaam)?
