EPA Reverses Itself on Fluoride
FoxNews.com ^ | February 22, 2011 | By Deirdre Imus

For decades, fluoride has been marketed and heralded as essential for good dental hygiene and used in most toothpastes and mouthwashes. In addition, parents have been routinely encouraged to give their kids cavity-fighting fluoride treatments when they visit the dentist. ...

But that was then and this is now. In a surprising reversal, last month EPA’s announced that it intends to lower the maximum amount of fluoride in drinking water because of growing evidence supporting the chemical’s possible deleterious effects to children’s health.

In 2006, the National Academy of Sciences report that found dental fluorosis – caused by too much fluoride – capable of putting children at risk of developing other dental problems including the breakdown of tooth enamel, discoloration and pitting. January’s EPA recommendation reversal was made following a revised risk assessment study that found 2 out of 5 adolescents had tooth streaking or spottiness and some pitting as a result of excessive fluoride. In addition, other studies have found excessive ingestion of fluoride capable of increasing the risk of brittle bones leading to fractures and debilitating bone abnormalities.

Actually, honey helps fight tooth decay - and is good for the gums.

Honey is an excellent antibacterial agent.

Indeed, honey should be in your medicine cabinet, it is so beneficial for so many things...sore throats, coughs, cuts, stings, stomach problems, burns,...

You know that hydrogen peroxide is a powerful germ killer - but one has to use caution.

It is thought that honey, though it doesn.t contain hydrogen peroxide, has the capacity to cause the production of it...thus the antibacterial actions of honey. But produced in this manner, the hydrogen peroxide doesn't have the caustic effects.

He is nuts if he thinks children don’t swallow toothpaste. And how much leaches into the water just from using toothpaste?

Adults' health too. Bodily fluid degradation, to be precise. General Ripper was right. He was also right about the communist infiltration.

LOL!!

"Mandrake, have you ever seen a commie drink a glass a water? Don't they only drink vodka? Wanna know why commies only drink vodka and never water . . .?

Thank God for General Jack D. Ripper and Stanley Kubrick! They knew, as far back as 1963, that various commie forces were at work in the world -- even at work in our own government -- attempting to sap and impurify our precious bodily fluids!

Yes, my understanding is that Europe uses fluoride to treat hyperthyroid conditions. So, that got me to wondering, what does all that fluoride in tap water do to people who have normal or hypothyroid? I’m sure some of my friends think I’m nuts for filtering out my tap water, but that’s okay by me.

Flouride is what’s known as a toxic halide (as is chlorine). It mimics iodine in your system, which is a needed mineral, and blocks absorption of it. I content that this is one big reason obesity is climbing so rapidly. Iodine is the mineral that makes the thyroid function. The thyroid regulates metabolism.

People need to take iodine supplements (iodoral or lugol’s) to flush out flouride and chlorine off the iodine receptors.
