Hes just getting started. As he positions himself as Republican kingmaker in 2012, Rove is trying to make sense of a post-Bush party, one riven by ideological schisms and splintered into a dozen or more potential Republican nominees. To take back power and reestablish his dream of a permanent Republican majority (Durable, he now corrects. I never said permanent), Rove must carefully negotiate a new media world revolutionized by Sarah Palin and bring order to a restive party upended and realigned by tea- party populists, who view Rove as the elitist Machiavellian who once played them like a Stradivarius for George W. Bush. But with W. down on his ranch in Texas, the Brain needs a new body to inhabit. And that body, hes decided, is the Republican Party itself.

Rove appears to have sour-grapes over how things are changing before him in this article and will use his money to influence the 2012 election - he is use to the Top down heavy organization that he used for 30 years and now the Tea Party/Palin/Bachmann group is all about bottom down individuals that can not be controlled by people like him. He is trying to make sure the party doesn't change for the good, he also claims that there is no 'Republican Establishment' and even if he is technically right, the thinking of the inside the beltway Republicans is about the same things
No thanks.
Rove has as much credibility as James Carville....they should form a duet.
Rove can stuff it.
The day Rove reasserts control of the party is the day I quit the Republican party.
It appears that the only way to get through to people like Rove is to utterly destroy their credibility and reputation from the grassroots, so that he becomes poison to any candidate for whom he consults.
That’s what will have to happen to change the Beltway RINO’s mind: destroy their “consultants.” Because as we all know, RINO’s have no backbone or mind of their own - they merely channel what hypnotic dispensers of statistical BS like Rove, Carville, Black, et al dispense.
No matter what one thinks of Rove in the past - I think most here on FR probably don’t like his “this is the way we do it” thinking which is the Establishment thinking that got us Obama
Tokyo has a real credibility problem that will last for at least a couple of decades.
You don’t get any more “yesterday” than Rover.
There’s only one Bush I want to have in the White House, and it sure ain’t Jeb.
It's a new time Rove and there is no room for your yester-year rules for running parties.
Two words for “The Architect”.
Shut. Up.
Rove is soooo 9/10/2001.
Rove + Jeb = open border RINOs.
Rove, sans ‘magnificent’.
FU and STHU Rove. You’ve done enough damage to this nation.
Palins
That should be just clever enough to get past the censors.
