Mr. Tubbs (on screen right, chatting with a protester) seems to be a real law and order kind of fellow. Or not.
Police Union at work?
Do the Wisconsin Capitol Police have a union?
don’t they need to go back to work on Monday morning?
No suprise there. The cops are also most likely union too.

MADISON (WKOW) Dane County authorities alleged 19 year old Collin Tubbs of Middleton went on an arson rampage, right after calling his father, state capitol police chief Charles Tubbs.
Police and court documents state chief Tubbs received a phone call from his son around 4 a.m. Feb. 13 before the crimes.
A Middleton police report states the younger Tubbs told his father someone had shot his (Collin Tubbs) vehicle.
The report states Collins Tubbs also said he was going to take care of it, and his father encouraged Tubbs to contact police.
But the police report states chief Tubbs did not contact Middleton police himself until an hour and a half later, after the arson fires had been set.

Another Son Of Capitol Police Chief Facing Felony Charges
Tubbs Jr. Charged With 2 Felony Counts
April 9, 2009
MADISON, Wis. A Madison man is facing two felony counts and up to 46 years in prison after being charged Wednesday in connection with an attempted armed robbery in the city of Madison.
Charles Tubbs Jr., 22, is accused of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and possession of a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun.
Charles Tubbs Jr. is the son of Capitol Police Chief Charles Tubbs.
The criminal complaint said Tubbs Jr. and another man were driving around Madison with the shotgun on Dec. 8 and had planned to rob a drug dealer when they crashed their vehicle at Monroe Street and Commonwealth Avenue.
Tubbs younger son, Collin, 19, is also facing charges in connection with a string of arsons in February.
They probably did the right thing. These people wanted to be seen being dragged out in handcuffs. By not forcibly removing them they lost their camera shots. Once this bill is eventually passed these people will pack up and go home.
The chief would not be in the union nor would the management of the state patrol.
The capitol police is just a small force I am sure the state troopers would be doing the most work.
The decision is not for the police to make they would need a lawful order from the governor.
Most of us from IL make jokes about Wisconsin but the people outside of the liberal bastions of Milwaukee and Madison are great people.
These are college student agitators who are either ditching class or are just bums paid by SEIU to sleep in their sleeping bags in the Capitol.
Last night I was furious and wanting to see the bums arrested and beaten with clubs but after thinking about it I agree with the other FReepers who say it is good they are staying. It shows that they DONT WORK!!! They are professional agitators!!!
1. Lock the interior doors, including the restrooms.
2. Turn off the heat, turn off the water.
3. Don’t allow any more people to come in.
They’ll all be gone within 48 hours.

I’ve got the perfect solution. . . Put Rush Limbaugh’s program on an intercom. Guarantee they will evacuate within minutes. : )
Then, post sentry's at the Capitol entrance, and close the Capitol to visitors because the Democrat Senators are AWOL.
I heard from a friend that works at the capitol that the protesters are literally destroying the place with filth and trash. She said it is obvious that they have no respect for public areas and the stench is unbelievable.
Wisconsin police association urges members to join sleep-in at Capitol
By Muriel Kane
February 25, 2011 @ 6:34 pm
Wisconsin lawmakers approved [1] a rule change on Wednesday that would allow them to close the State Capitol building over the weekend and eject the protesters who have been camping there for the last week.
The new restrictions on items and sleeping areas within the Capitol were to go into effect at 4 PM on Friday, and the protesters were to be removed from state offices and hearing rooms after business hours on Saturday.
The head of Wisconsin’s Professional Police Association, however, not only opposes the plan but has called on police to join the sleep-in. According to a posting [2] at Dane101, a Madison area blog network, WPPA Executive Director Jim Palmer has asked Governor Scott Walker to keep the building open and allow the protesters to remain.
The law enforcement officers from across the state that have been working at the Capitol and have been very impressed with how peaceful everyone has been, Palmer stated. As has been reported in the media, the protesters are cleaning up after themselves and have not caused any problems. The fact of that matter is that Wisconsins law enforcement community opposes Governor Walkers effort to eliminate most union activity in this state, and we implore him to not do anything to increase the risk to officers and the public.”
Palmer also announced that the WPPA is asking its members from across the state to join the protests, explaining, Law enforcement officers know the difference between right and wrong, and Governor Walkers attempt to eliminate the collective voice of Wisconsins devoted public employees is wrong. That is why we have stood with our fellow employees each day and why we will be sleeping among them tonight.
Palmer also noted that many police officers have already been participating in the protests in civilian clothes after providing security in their official function. “We may not have a big group but we’re going to try to have a presence just the same,” he stated [3]. “Who knows, maybe I’ll be there by myself.”
