Ugh. Hong Kong's English daily South China Morning Post has a distinctly unsavory dispatch from the Chinese media this morning: Government scientists have released research that millions of acres of Chinese agricultural land and over 12 million tons of Chinese grain are contaminated by toxic metal pollution, according to this week's edition of the China Economic Weekly, a state-run magazine.
Last week, a separate article reported that 10% of Chinese rice contained excess cadmium, a heavy metal known to cause cancer.

Folks, we can look for more of this with food shortages and rising transportation costs..
I saw italian salad dressing for $3.98 today at the mexican grocers
Oh, thank you. That’s very intriguing! But I don’t want to bother a fellow Freeper every time I have a question about the origin of something, which is very, very frequently... Is there a website that’ll help us decipher SKUs? I just looked on Google and nothing came up right away. Or these “inventory companies” you mention... Can you name a few of them? Maybe I can look up there webpages and find something there. Thank you VERY MUCH! A new lead on an old problem. I love it!
OMG...that is one of *the* best songs to have cranking when ripping around a twisty back road on a Harley.

I fear this is status quo in China. If this is not from malice, it is from incompetence.
SKU is an acronym for “stock keeping unit.” It’s an item number more or less, and would vary from one company to the next. If there’s any consistency to be found, it would be with the original importing and distribution entity in the United States for the purportedly tainted product. You’d want their item number or SKU.
Again, though, it’d change depending upon just who purchased it and how it was prepared and packaged for sale. It could be in anything from chicken and rice soup to frozen dinners. Difficult to track, in other words, unless there were to be a broad inquiry as there was with melamine contaminated dog food.
SNL brands are the only breakfast cereals I like.
I worked with Western Inventory Services, and then later on ran an inventory database for a small store.
I have some of my homebrew stuff. I would frequently get product requests and part of my responsibility was to satisfy customers.
It’s not really in the interest of the shopkeepers or the inventory services to divulge these to customers so you won’t find this on their website.
PM me a list and I’ll return it to you tomorrow. It doesn’t take me very long.
Crap.
I got no throttle to crack open right now.....I’m goin’ out in the shop and sit on the bike and make “VROOOOM VROOOOOM!” noises.....LOL
[Oh, God...PLEASE bring me an early spring and long HOT summer...I’m goin’ craaaaaaaaazy.....train...AI! AI! AI! Buddah Budduh BOOMP”!]
*sigh*
Now you’ve done it.
I’ll spend the rest of the night watching the videos taken from my handlebar cam.
Orzo is a pasta , yes , man made .
Gnight you.
I know some how you will muddle through.
Fwank Zrappa?
Yeah, I got lots of hair to tear out.
I’ll be fine.
[arrrrgh!]
Brue Oystel Curt.
When you go out to eat what kind of rice can you expect. Makes one wonder.
Thank you. I don’t have any SKUs here that I’m wondering about. If an item doesn’t clearly identify where it’s from, I simply don’t buy it. Right now the one item I’m wondering most about is ‘Full Circle’ canned organic tomatoes. Next time I’m in the supermarket, I’ll write down the SKU(s) and PM you, okay? Thx.
Great! I need to be getting off to bed though.
Thank you. Interesting.
G’night!
