As the apostle Paul wrote, we need to pray "for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives" (1 Timothy 2:2). So I pray for President Obama while I oppose his agenda. In fact, our prayers have never been more urgently needed than right now.
A quick check of the headlines shows that President Obama faces enormous challenges around the globe. The Muslim world is in upheaval, and there's no telling if the result will be the rise of democracy -- or a descent into Iran-style theocracy.
Imagine being the president of the United States, confronting this rising chaos without any firm Reaganesque principles to guide you. That's the situation President Obama finds himself in. This man truly needs our prayers.

Wouldn't that be awesome? That is exactly the type of thing I've been praying for him. An epiphany, a revelation. God can do anything and it surely would take a miracle. Can you imagine the impact it would have? Not just on him and his family but, the whole country, and out into the world.
Personally, I dont pray for the physical harm of our foes, but I do pray for obama, soros, and their cabal to lose all power, influence, and wealth."
I pray that God will send His angels to "pull down strongholds" in Washington, to scramble messages, lose paperwork, and to turn the evil of the evildoers back upon them. I also pray that the lies and iniquities of the evil ones will be exposed every day. Then, pray that George Soros' fortune will be cursed to its roots.
Thank you.
You too.
Not a word.
My statement was too abbreviated and Michael Reagans too ill defined. Michael's article sounded to me as if he suggested Christians pray for Mr Obama's success. I will not do that. That would be to pray against America for his agenda, currently, is to destroy the historic America and rebuild a Marxist one in its place.
I will not pray for the president's success just as had I lived in Nazi Germany I would not have prayed for Hitler's success.
I do pray for the President that:
1-He dedicates himself each day to the the Lord Jesus Christ.
2-He personally grows closer to the Lord Jesus Christ.
3-He develops a more sensitive ear to hear the voice of the Lord Jesus Christ.
4-He becomes increasingly willing to do the will of the Lord Jesus Christ.
5-He commits to putting the will of the Lord Jesus Christ ahead of his own.
6-He prays daily to the Lord Jesus Christ for help, wisdom & guidance.
7-He at all times acts in the best interest of the Lord Jesus Christ and America.
There is nothing in Matt 5 or 1 Tim 2 that indicates we should pray that a leader's agenda be successful especially if that agenda is evil. And while you didn't suggest otherwise and Michael probably didn't intend that either, I think some of what he wrote could be interpreted that way.
Ah, an honest man. The problem is that in this case there is no matter of interpretation. God's word is clear on this issue.
