Some protesters plan peaceful resistance when Capitol is closed today

MADISON - With police planning to clear the state Capitol of protesters Sunday, some demonstrators Saturday night were preparing to peacefully resist removal from the building.
Capitol Police announced early Saturday that they intend to close down the Capitol at 4 p.m. Sunday. But little information was provided about exactly how the huge building will be cleared of thousands of protesters, some of whom have been sleeping on the marble floors since Feb. 15.
And there were several indications late Saturday that some won't walk out of the building when asked. Posters went up in several places announcing that three "non-violence training" sessions were scheduled for late Saturday night.
Also, organizers distributed instructions for those who choose to peacefully refuse to leave. Among the options listed was going limp and being carried out by officers.
"I will leave peacefully," said Neil Graupner, one of the protest organizers, Saturday. "But I can't speak for my friends."
Another protester spoke to the crowd about what to expect Sunday and how to behave.
"Don't fight with the people who carry us out tomorrow," she told the crowd. "They're not who our fight is with. It's with Scott Walker and the people who support his bill."
Some were questioning why it is necessary to remove the demonstrators. "I'd rather they keep the Capitol open," said Madison Mayor David Cieslewicz on Saturday.

“Im picturing a machine on wheels with a spatula type thing on the front that would scoop them up off the floor as they lie there limply and deposit them into a holding bin or net. Sort of a pooper scooper for leftists”
LOL! I’m sure as you well know that these very devices you describe, called “Scoops”, were used in “Soylent Green” to remove rioters from the public market whenever Soylent Green ran short. It’s such an original and bizarre idea, that the images just stick with you, as do so many other images in Soylent Green.
I am trying to locate the information I read it on Wednesday and the article is now nowhere to be found. I thought I had saved it, but I searched through all saved articles and cannot find it.
basically I remember the rules were changed because the business of the state should be able to conducted without all the noise and stench of unwashed bodies and various smells of food cooking, crockpots and so forth. All the upper floors 2-4 and assembly offices and hearing rooms are closed to the public. the first floor will be open to the public only. The assembly will have hearings to completed by 6PM.
Did you know that you cam bake chocolate chip cookie dough in a crockpot? I remember somebody put that on a comments that followed. Only in Madison can the protestors threaten to shut down the purpose of cleaning a Capitol. It has been 13 days that the protestors have been sleeping in the building. I cannot fathom the amount filth that has built up.
Probably have a crew of hundred custodial staff just to clean the building from top to bottom. Wonder what the cost will be and how many Waste management or Veolia Dumpsters have been delivered to accommodate the garbage.
I just don't understand why the media hasn't picked up on the fact that the reporter who made the 'prank' phone call to Governor Walker was assuming another person's identity.
Isn't that illegal?

I’ll be very surprised if the capitol building is left dirty. The union honchos are venal, but not so stupid they’d gift the opposition with a photo-op showing damage and filth left in their protesting wake.
If they’re savvy, they’ll plant comments online about protesters wrecking the place, to make us look bad when we’re proven wrong. But that’s only if they’re savvy...
U have to have an account to view it. Don’t have an account. Would be nice if someone posted it here.
More practical idea:
Borrow an engine crane from an auto repair shop. Cuff protesters hands and feet. Attach to crane. Lift and wheel out of the space. The model shown above will lift 3 tons, so it should accommodate even the most overweight protesters.
Not only does it save officers' backs from lift injuries, but the sight of them being wheeled out will make them look ridiculous.
How can I score a permit to sleep INSIDE the Wisconsin Capitol Building for a few days?
Isn't that usually done in grades K thru 12?
It would hold a dozen or so of them before needing to be emptied outside... in the landfill.
In my best Clouseau accent, “Nut ennymeur.”
could someone (on our side) climb up and flick their bic under one of the sprinker heads? (or, does that only work in the Mission Impossible movies?)
Only mine would be smaller and friendlier.
