E-Mail from the SEIU
e-mail to me | 2/25/2011 | LonePalm

Posted on 02/25/2011 9:28:12 AM PST by LonePalm

I just received the following e-mail. I have reproduced it as best as I can. My comments are in brackets.
********

[name],

Join us at a solidarity rally in your state capitol this Saturday. [Sorry, I need to rearrange my sock drawer.]

Over 13,000 people signed up to attend a solidarity action this weekend. We've partnered with dozens of great organizations and it promises to be a day you won't soon forget. Sign-up to join today. It's been almost two weeks since SEIU members in Wisconsin joined with other public employees, students and allies to fight back against Governor Walker's attempt to take away their rights. [How's that 'Hope and Change' working out for you?]

And we're winning. [Sure you are. /s]

You've seen the scenes from Madison by now, tens of thousands in the streets and thousands more inside the capitol inspiring a nation that has had enough of attempts to slash public services and hurt workers for the profit of billionaire campaign contributors. [WAAAH! They won't collect our union dues any more.]

But this weekend we've joined with allies across the country to organize solidarity rallies in major cities - including every state capital - this Saturday at noon. [All 57.]

We'll speak out to demand an end to the attacks on workers' rights and public services across the country. We'll demand investment to create decent jobs. And we'll demand that the rich and powerful pay their fair share. [Which one of your speakers will speak for the TAXPAYERS?]

In short, we'll turn New Jersey into Wisconsin. [The taxpayers of NJ pray that you do. We need the tax relief.]

Will you join us Saturday at noon? Sign up to join your local rally here: [Link to sign-up site removed]

Did you see the big news this week? [0bama resigned?]

The Wisconsin Legislature shut down its comment line after receiving too many calls against the attempt to take away workers' rights. [This is news? You execute a DOS attack and call it news? PS, I'll bet most of those messages supported the legislature.]

But when a blogger pretended to be Kansas oil magnate David Koch, Republican Governor Scott Walker took his call and stayed on the line for 20 minutes! [You think a fraudulent call is important?]

The two talked about how to use tricks to defeat Democratic State Senators, Walker's plans to tell thousands of workers they will lose their jobs, and even talked about the billionaire's "vested interest" in the outcome of this fight.

You may not have a billion dollars like David Koch, but it's time our legislators hear our voice. [Sorry, we voted those guys out last November.]

Use the tool below to find an event taking place this Saturday at noon and RSVP to join the fight.

[Another link removed]

The outpouring of support for our members has been overwhelming. [Sure, from your members.]

Over 20,000 people sent in messages supporting them and our website has seen record traffic over the past week. [Not all of those messages were friendly.]

Workers in Wisconsin are very well aware the nation stands with them and they look forward to hearing the news about our successful events across the country on Saturday. [That's why the TAXPAYERS voted out the Democrats.]

In solidarity, [Note the leftist lingo.]

President, SEIU

I got on their e-mail list after posting a disparaging comment about public employee unions in Wisconsin. They seem to think that anyone posting on their site is a friend.

If you have any doubt as to the desperation of the unions and the Democrat party they support, this should dispel it. They can't even tell the truth to their supporters.

I got the same email for the same reason. I replied “Nobody collectively bargains for the taxpayers.”

I also received that email. What a crock. The rat/lib unionistas still don't get it, but they will.

I received an almost identical one from Daily Kos. They are clearly pulling out all the stops. Hopefully Gov. Walker and the WI voters will recognize this for what it is: Collective bargaining for public employees has to go.

Wait until these poor stupid schmucks realize that their union leaders are going to throw them under the bus and agree to the benefit and pension cuts, so long as the dues witholding goes on uninterrupted.

I live within 7 miles of the SEIU local 1000 union hall, right here in Sacramento.

It's big. Lot's of members.

I'm pretty sure they'll turn out in the CA State Capitol as Governor Moonbeam is going to have to implement a $25bil annual cut.

This is what I sent out to my email lists today:

SPREAD IT!!!

INFORM YOURSELF and your friends. Do your own research! Don’t allow yourself to be FOOLED about what’s REALLY going on ~[Matchett-PI]

NOTE:
“The American Dream” phrase was first hijacked by the progressives [back in Roosevelt.

Andy Stern, Van Jones, etc...began planning this “American Dream” movement over two years ago.

The teacher unions around the country publish monthly magazines to their union members and the March issues is focused on agitation. Producing a magazine takes months of lead time.

Bottom line: We are truly witnessing astro-turf from the Communist left in our country. Soro’s, the socialists and communists are working together to destroy our country. None of this is spontaneous...this has been well planned for a very long time. And it isn’t just here it is all over the world. This is the 60’s radicals giving one more try to bring us down. Think about your kids!!!

Time to make a choice. This isn’t about your benefits, your rights, etc... union members are being used to promote an Un-American agenda.

People on the left freaking out about collective bargaining...go research Calvin Coolidge...that is exactly what he did in MA...he ended collective bargaining rights and he changed America for the better.

Get on the right side of history!

ALERT, ALERT, ALERT !!!!
This is happening all over America tomorrow (Saturday). Enter your zip code at the link below and find out where they’re holding a rally near you.
I entered my zip code and found out that the closest one to me is in Tallahassee, Fl. tomorrow.

In Wisconsin and around our country, the American Dream is under fierce attack. Instead of creating jobs, Republicans are giving tax breaks to corporations and the very richand then cutting funding for education, police, emergency response, and vital human services.

On Saturday, February 26, at noon local time, we are organizing rallies in front of every statehouse and in every major city to stand in solidarity with the people of Wisconsin. We demand an end to the attacks on worker’s rights and public services across the country. We demand investment, to create decent jobs for the millions of people who desperately want to work. And we demand that the rich and powerful pay their fair share.

We are all Wisconsin. We are all Americans.

This Saturday, we will stand together to Save the American Dream. Be sure to wear Wisconsin Badger colorsred and whiteto show your solidarity. Sign up today to join in!

SEIU President Mary Kay Henry

Mary Kay Henry was named one of the nation’s “Top 25 Women in Healthcare” for 2009 by Modern Healthcare. For nearly 30 years, Henry has represented health care workers at the Service Employees International Union, where she helped lead the fight to expand health care for millions of children and strengthen the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). Henry has devoted her life to helping America’s health care workers form unions, improve their jobs and the quality of care, and advocate for a more rational and humane health care system. Her faith and values as a practicing Roman Catholic led her to pursue union organizing as a vocation.

Her vision and leadership has helped pave the way to groundbreaking agreements between SEIU and hospital chains such as Beverly Enterprises, Catholic Healthcare West, Tenet, and HCA, and to the national Labor-Management Partnership at Kaiser Permanente, the nation’s largest HMO. In the Midwest, a strategic alliance between SEIU and Allina Hospitals and Clinics in Minnesota is centered on improving the quality of patient care, with caregivers now working side by side with management to solve problems.

Henry began working with SEIU in 1979 and rose to become a leader and chief health care strategist and was elected to the International Executive Board in 1996. In June 2004, she was elected to serve as an International Executive Vice President of SEIU, leading the union’s efforts to build a stronger voice for health care workers. More than one million health care workers nationwide, including registered nurses, technicians, doctors, and hospital and clinic workers are united in SEIU Healthcare.

In 2010, Henry was unanimously elected to serve as International Executive President of the 2.2 million-member union.

An active champion of health care reform, Mary Kay envisions a U.S. health care system that provides universal coverage and gives front-line caregivers a real voice in patient care. She is a member of the executive board of Families USA, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to the achievement of high-quality, affordable health care for all Americans. She was formerly a labor adviser to and member of the U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops’ Subcommittee on Catholic Health Care.

Recognizing that today’s global economy demands a new and different model of labor-management relationships, Mary Kay is leading a national effort by SEIU to build new kinds of partnerships with hospital employers-partnerships that will improve the quality of patient care, strengthen the hospital’s competitive performance, and give workers a voice in decisions that affect care and working conditions. Mary Kay is also active in the fight for immigration reform and gay and lesbian rights. She is a founding member of SEIU’s gay and lesbian Lavender Caucus.

The unions already tried conceding the benefits and pension cuts, if they could keep the collective bargaining (i.e. union power). Gov said no. They just don’t (or won’t) ever get the fact that the unions are not looking out for them (or the children), but only to line their own pockets.

A line right out of Atlas Shrugged. Investment? In what? A money-losing proposition?

When all the union leadership and many members know they get a check each week, which they can cash for it’s value of course they can demand anything. They have no clue as to how or why the employer is able to get that money to pay them. All they know is they get money.

The process as to how the employer is able to make enough money to pay them is a foreign concept to them.
