Capuano 'bloody' comment becomes flashpoint in union flap

Cambridge — .U.S. Rep. Michael Capuano expressed regret Wednesday for his choice of words at a Tuesday rally to support Wisconsin workers, after national and local Republicans pounced on him for “over-the-top and inflammatory rhetoric.”

“Congressman Mike Capuano must have lost the memo from President Obama and Democratic leaders who were demanding more civility in our political discourse and a toning down of incendiary rhetoric after the massacre in Tucson on January 8,” the Massachusetts Republican Party wrote in a Wednesday statement. “Yesterday, at a rally on Beacon Hill, Capuano couldn't resist the urge to stir up a crowd of union members with a call for blood in the pursuit and protection of their political agenda.”

During the Tuesday rally – a gathering of more than 1,000 union supporters protesting a proposal by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker to diminish the collective bargaining rights of public sector workers in that state – Capuano, speaking in front of the State House, fired up the crowd by saying, “I’m proud to be here with people who understand that it’s more than just sending an email to get you going. Every once and awhile you need to get out on the streets and get a little bloody when necessary.”

After Republicans took aim at his rhetoric, Capuano issued a statement expressing regret for his language, although at the time it drew wild applause and cheers from the throngs of union supporters.

“I strongly believe in standing up for worker rights and my passion for preserving those rights may have gotten the best of me yesterday in an unscripted speech,” he said in a statement. “I wish I had used different language to express my passion and I regret my choice of words.”

Capuano also referred to a vastly outnumbered throng of Tea Party counter-protesters as “a couple of nuts in the background who want to take it all away from you,” waving his hand dismissively in their direction. Throughout the three-hour rally, rank-and-file union members traded heated barbs with the Tea Party backers. Some clashes nearly escalated into violence and resulted in police intervention. In one case, a pro-union rallier spit in the face of one of the counter-protesters, who set up camp near the rally.....

“Capuano expressed regret Wednesday for his choice of words”
“my passion for preserving those rights may have gotten the best of me yesterday in an unscripted speech”

He regrets that without a script he spoke his true thoughts.

Now that we’ve been warned what to expect, we know how to prepare....

The teacher’s union president in Neenah sent a memo out to members urging them to picket Rep Kaufert’s house for the next 4 days — that they were to leave messages at his two Neenah business.

After the dutiful union members started calling his house and cell at all hours of the night, using tirades of expletives and threatening Rep Kaufet’s wife and daughters, she called off her union dogs.

But when it did not stop she merely said, “It’s not the avenue we want to go. We still have people who feel we should do that, but we are not as a union advocating that.”

It’s all in the link in Post #1.

“He regrets that without a script he spoke his true thoughts.”

If only he could have continued his unscripted thoughts and told us what color shirts would be issued to the rank and file. (Scu&bags in action.)

IMHO

Andrew Wilkow (Sirius XM 12-3 EST) has been all over this.

He describes the movie playing in the leftist’s heads very well, and poses the question that Capuano and the others should be made to answer - “OK, tough guy. Where’s the story line going? How is this going to end?”

The left has internalized the idea that their violence is righteous, but our hitting back is a crime. A lot of otherwise non-leftists believe it, too.

But this arrangement isn’t going to last. Leftist political dominance always ends, because their social arrangements defy human nature.

The only real question for the American left to consider is, will it be Chile, or will it be Indonesia?

The Union is losing the PR battle. They are typical bullies who back down when their intended victim stands up to them.

The longer this drags on the more the bulk of the American people will see how ugly these union thugs really are. Sort of like waking up next to whatever you picked-up after you’ve started sobering up and the beer goggles are gone.

He doesn’t regret the comments. He only regrets getting called on it.

Ya know, forgive me my “passion” on equal par with the representative’s.....but, should a mass of Lefties be “invited” to a sports stadium for “unique disposition”, I’d not be bothered in the least.

Capuano and the assorted union thugs keep making our case and I hope they keep it up, long and loud.

Too bad for them that their cave man tactics will destroy not only their political careers but the lefty/rat union movement as well.

While I wouldn’t worry about inflammatory rhetoric in front of a group of non-liberals I worry greatly about such rhetoric in front of liberals. Liberals are without exception mindless sheeple and are easily incited into outrageous acts of violence. I have experimented with this and have proven to my own satisfaction that wherever you get 10 or more Obama lovers together you can easily incite them to violence. My wife has some old high school friends who are still liberals even in their 50s. I thinks it’s all the dope smoking. Anyhow when we go in a big camping group I find it very easy to stir them up and have them calling for the murders of non-liberals while sitting around the campfire. They really are easily led mindless twits dancing on puppet strings.

I've seen this in Maryland. The mindset of people who interact with groupthink all day, everyday (and probably live with someone with the same politics too). They NEVER expect that you think any why other than how they believe. These people graduated from some the most elite schools and really are NOT very bright. But they KNOW they are right and they are smug and nasty about it (cause they think everyone they're talking to will find them funny and correct). It's a real eye opener.
