They will probably burn it down.
There would be no arrests even if 24 GOP officials and staffers were hanging dead from lampposts.
These people have already gotten away with invading and occupying the capitol building for a week.

If the police and fire department are going to not protect a group of citizens based on their political ideology, then it is time to disband the police and fire unions as well.
Failure to protect the people actually paying their salaries and benefits is a misuse of public trust, and Scott Walker should announce that police and fire collective bargaining will also be eliminated by a floor vote.

[It seems to be getting out of hand there in Madison- and more/bigger protests on Saturday?]
If the GOP and Governor are smart, they will have made the collective bargaining portion a done deal by then. Let them protest having to contribute to their retirement and healthcare.
It will not surprise me if these protesters are there until November 2011—big money behind them.

Walker can end this whenever he wants, he just needs to strip the union provisions from the other bill and vote on them separately which would only require a simple majority.

It would be really cool if he was able to get them with a couple of gotcha questions that made it obvious they were being told lies about the bill to scare them. The mob will never allow a discussion. They'll chant and eventually drive the governor back inside, and the media will triumphantly carry the video on the evening news, portraying him as an embattled monarch unwilling to face joe everyman.

I heard that- and also heard the tail end of him last night explain to Greta why he doesn’t want to do that- why it’s all part of the package. Sorry to say I didn’t hear his reasoning.

I saw that, and didn’t get it either. I did a rewind to make sure that is what he really said. He didn’t really give and answer, other than it is a budget issue. (It is much more than a budget issue, Governor!)
To: SE Mom
I used to work for H&SS in Wisconsin. Whenever there was a rule change to nursing home regulations, NH Admins would send BAGS full of letters from their residents, many illegible, to the Governor and the Department Secretary. Each one had to receive an answer.

That description is dead on. I’m going to remember it.
It gets even sadder when they pass age 30, 40 or 50 and are still doing things like this. Pathetic old hippies.

Perfect. So, let the police union members refuse to do their duty. Now the public REALLY sees what unions do to public service. Becomes a question of where loyalties really lie.
A caller to either Wilkow or Sullivan (166 Patriot channel on XM radio) reported yesterday that some TEA party counter-protestors in Providence RI were beaten by Purple Thugs. Providence police ignored five 9-1-1 calls before responding.
You are getting this from a listener to a radio program reporting what a caller said. Sorry it isn't worth a lot, but maybe it can be a clue to FReeper in RI of someone with MUCH better search engine mojo than I have...
