The only thing that ever really drove me bananas on a regular basis as a pedestrian in New York City was the occasional situation where a group of visitors to the City would take an escalator up out of a train station and then stop right at the very top of the escalator to figure out where they were going or gawk at all the tall buildings . . . while the escalator continued to feed a steady stream of people up behind them.

We need a new rule-of-thumb -

“Idiots will gather at the narrowest choke-point possible”
