Reporter: So you're saying you definitely wouldn't run in 2012 or you leave that possibility open?

West: I'm just saying that that's not even a consideration for me. I know that there's a lot of buzz out there about that but, you know, that's not coming from my mouth."

No, we need Col. West to stay right where he is for now.

President West, I love how that sounds!

Does this mean Libya does not require their president to be a ‘natural born citizen’, either?

We need him more as SecDef or State. It’ll be nice to see an American rep NOT bow down to every foreign leader he sees.

This man is a true leader--and he would be the Left's worst nightmare if he were to run for President. However, he needs more time in the public arena to gain the kind of name-recognition he'll need to run for President.

I listened to his keynote address to CPAC--it was awesome! We here at FR need to keep Colonel West in our prayers. He's a true warrior, and will therefore attract more than a few enemies!

But--as my beloved husband liked to remind me--"Our snakes can eat their snakes." !:)

I’m sure the media will claim he isn’t clean and articulate enough to run.

If West runs for president, he’s got my vote.

As an officer he’s got far more experience than the current president.

As a red-blooded American, he’s got more entitlement to the job than the current president.

And there are very, very, VERY few among the Republicans that are worthy to even shine this patriot’s shoes.

Good for West.

I like him and think he has a terrific future in politics.

I'm hoping he spends a few productive years in Congress before moving up the political food chain.

He’s got too much sense to run now. It would be much too soon. He just got elected to congress.

We really have a problem in the Republican Party, because very few of the long timers are worth a damn, and some of the more promising beginners burn out because they are persuaded to run too soon.

It will be good if we can have a goodly number of solid, conservative politicians at the local, state, and national levels, all gaining experience and, hopefully, resisting the corruption that has damaged so many of the more experienced politicians.

We need that in order to groom future candidates, and also because not even a Reagan can run the country if he has no other decent politicians at various levels to work with.

Yes, I would draft West for Sec Defense and Bolton for Sec State.

A new kind of West Wing. I can imagine him appealing to a broad swath of the American electorate.

I agree, the Presidency is unachievable for Col. West at this time. Hussein got in from the guilt and reverse racism vote, which will not work in 2012 at all.

West is running for President of Libya?

Why not? British Obama ran for President of the United States and won. It would seem only fair to reciprocate with an African nation being run by a citizen of the U.S.

During the Obama primary campaign I met a very nice girl, very professionally dressed, probably 25 or so, in a Paneras and we talked about her rabid support for Obama.

She thought that the most important attribute for a candidate was likeability and she felt that Obama was far more likeable than Hillary.

At the end of the discussion I told her that over the next few years the soft and touchy-feely Republicans were going to be replaced by a younger, extremely determined group of Repubs who were going to be very difficult for the Demo party to handle.

She laughed and I told her that McCain was the last of the old style Republicans she would see in her lifetime. And I also told her that she would vote Republican in the next election for Prez. She looked stunned as I walked away.

I wonder if she remembers that conversation, I wonder if she’s still employed, I wonder if she is now a member of FreeRepublic......

It was the people like her, not the Blacks, not the Jews that elected obama. This is not what the main stream media wants you to believe, but obama would have still been elected if no Blacks or Jewws voted for him. It was the White Liberal guilt vote, a/k/a fools, idiots, and parasites that elected him.
