The two Iranian naval ships which crossed the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean Tuesday morning are carrying "advanced Hezbollah weapons," Maariv Israeli paper reported on Wednesday, citing sources.
The sources told the paper, "Estimates indicate the two ships are carrying missiles of different range, rifles, ammunition, and night-vision gear... The voyage of the two ships is an Iranian attempt to go around the arms embargo on Hezbollah."
The paper also said that it is believed the voyage is an attempt on the part of the Iranians to "test the waters" with and gauge the responses of the Egyptian Supreme Military Council and its stance towards Tehran.

Doesn’t matter. Israel had ~400 nukes back in 2002, and it’s certainly not less now - probably 600-900. That places Israel on the same order aas the “big 5” - the US, Russia, France, Britain and China. Actually, it ranks behind only the US and Russia.
Which means that Israel has long since achieved overkill. Old term, not much used anymore. But erasing every islamic filth-hole from the face of the planet is eminently doable and might even, to the more bloodthirsty among us, be great fun.
What everyone knows but no one will say.
Kinda makes me wonder why anyone would be making a big deal out of nothing.
You can be 100% sure that the Israelies are using the MSM and press releases to their advantage. They have gotta have the highest IQs of all the mid-east countries. Everything you hear is carefully manipulated I am sure.
You’re a fool.
You have no business talking about overthrowing the government on this site. Advocating violence is against the site rules and that is written right below the post button when you write your comment.
You’ve lost your bloody mind if you think the brain-dead hordes in Chicago weren’t hap-hap-happy to vote for Rahmbo deadfish. IT’S FREAKIN’ CHICAGO!!
Yes, they are. And a lot of them are "clean" devices with little radiation, in fact some rumours back in 2002 was that they had managed directional blasts. But that doesn't mean they haven't beefed up the armory with high-effect thermonukes for that kind of use, the probability that they have is quite large. Israeli military thinking has explored this a lot, see Samson option and Yoram Ettinger.
Overkill in the old-time, MAD context is the treshhold for eradication of humanity in total. The old MAD days had another, more interesting doctrine buried in all the stuff: personal targetting. Target the known location of a head of state with enough megatonnage to be sure to get him, if collateral is 100.000 dead or a million dead.
Are you sure about that? I've always regarded Netanyahu a ‘wise as a serpent’ type of leader who committed to the security of Israel.
Plus the way he was treated by Obama was inexcusable, to say the least.
Isn’t “Advanced Hezbollah weapons” sort of an oxymoron? What are they - bigger rocks?
Well if that’s truly the case, then there’s NO reason not to sink them. None.
The Flight 800 thing continues to amaze me. Any bomb or missile that caused the explosion would have had to violate the laws of physics, but people will still tell you that the really crazy theory is that a palne with 93,000 flight hours would have a mechanical failure.
I'll second those questions.
I'll second those questions.
I mean, it's not as if there hasn't been accidental or deliberate downings of commercial aircraft around the world over the years!
When GW was president, the Israelis captured the Karine A and proved that Arafat was a liar and that the Iranians were supplying the Palis with weapons.
But under Obama, Israel knows all they will get is UN, US, and European condemnation and disbelief.
I pray we make it to 2012.
Senior official in Damascus says two naval ships passing through Suez Canal docked Lattakia Port in Syria.
Iranian navy commander expected to arrive in Damascus with military delegation later today.
thank you dear nanny
going to be afraid to voice your own opinions forever?
those “ questions” are right up there with
” if you’re so smart, why aren’t you rich? “
as good as any liberals I ever read
Ad Hominem.
Generally speaking, when a lot of information comes out of Israel regarding a military threat, you hear about it after they strike at someone. Not before. Keep that in mind. I tend to believe the earlier reports where no concrete threat exists. Testing the waters, absolutely.
The ad hominem is a classic logical fallacy,[2] but it is not always fallacious; in some instances, questions of personal conduct, character, motives, etc., are legitimate and relevant to the issue.[3
