MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A pizza delivery driver was called a hero Monday after she likely saved an elderly woman's life.
Before Monday's incident, most neighbors knew little about Memphis resident Jean Wilson, except that she's eaten pizza daily for the past three years.
"We make her pizza every day before she even calls, because we know she's going to call," delivery driver Susan Guy said.
Guy often delivers Wilson's regular order, one large pepperoni pizza, but recently workers at her restaurant noticed an unusual break in the pattern.
"She hadn't called in three days," Guy said. "My boss told me about it today."
Guy insisted to her boss that she be allowed to check on Wilson.
"He was like, 'Naw, you don't have to do that,' and I said, 'Yeah I do. Clock me out if that's what you gotta do,'" Guy said.
Guy drove to Wilson's house and knocked on her door, but no one answered. Then, she banged on Wilson's windows, but there was still no response. Running out of options, Wilson ran to neighbor Larry Comeaux's house for help.

You’re right, it is.
Just waiting for the follow up story.... Dominoes fired an employee today..... that always happens, hope it doesnt in this case.
The sense of community is strong in this one.
It is. Thanks for posting.
The pizza delivery driver is a lady, which is a rare nowadays.
The Guy’s a girl?
Love it. Thanks.
Nice. But what a terrible diet. In order to finish the leftovers, she must have had pizza for lunch & dinner every day.
“Pizza diet can save your life”. would be a better headline.

An old Samurai quote...
“Even in the smallest of things can the depths of one’s heart be seen.”
That’s what I thought too. She’d be a good neighbor.
You say that like it’s a bad thing.
Once you reach a certain age you should be able to eat anything you want.
I think some of those 106 year old ladies that each chocolate, take a nip of scotch, and have a cigarette everyday are allowed to live just to mess with the health nannies. :)

Guy is one hell of a gal!
I have always heard that Memphis can have some real down home southern charm.
What they leave out of the story is that she owns an Italian Wolfhound that loves pepperoni.
She can eat whatever she wants.
Still doesn’t make a large pepperoni pizza every day for 3 yrs a good diet.
In her case, it quite literally saved her life.
Rush might just do a half hour on this tomorrow. Anybody want to offer an under-over on the number of times he would make reference to Ms. O in the same segment?
Knew it would be Tennessee...when I lived there; dispatcher for the Sheriff’s office would call the elderly folks around town every week or so just to make sure they were okay.
