Somali pirates murder 4 Americans in cold blood but Navy captured 13 pirates alive by Bill Levinson
As reported by the Christian Science Monitor, Somali pirates killed four American captives while the United States was negotiating peacefully for their release.
US Central Command said four Navy warships were deployed in an effort to secure the Americans' release, and "negotiations were ongoing" when the shooting occurred at 1 a.m. today. Upon hearing gunfire, US forces boarded the Quest and confronted the pirates, capturing 13 and killing two. Attempts to revive the four Americans were unsuccessful and all four died from the gun wounds.
Our Armed Forces were obviously under orders to accept the surrenders of the 13 surviving pirates. From where we sit, this order should be rescinded. Uniformed enemy combatants who conduct themselves according to the Hague and Geneva Conventions have a right to surrender and be treated as prisoners of war. Pirates who murdered four helpless civilian captives obviously did not conduct themselves under the Hague and Geneva Conventions and they have no rights whatsoever. Had our Navy, upon discovering that "all four Americans died from the gun wounds," put a bullet through each pirate's head or thrown them overboard without life preservers pour encourager les autres, we would not have had a problem with that.

I respectfully disagree: obastard and the socialists have already done far more damage than Carter did in his entire term. We’re now entering uncharted waters for the US. Unfortunately, these waters are well charted historically — and they run right off the edge of the world...

The big deal here is that the Somali pirates had NO FEAR of executing Americans.

Yep. Four U.S. warships nearby. And they STILL kill the hostages. “Yeah - what ya gonna do. Toss me in Gitmo with three squares a day, prayer time and basketball?”

Take the pirates in a helicoptor to about 500 feet above the town square of their village and push them out.
No announcements, no press conference, no comment.

They will bring them back to U.S. and to indict and try some of them releasing the others to stay here. They will convict a few allowing the U.S. taxpayers the privilege of paying for their care and lodging for the forseeable future.
The prisoners and those who are released will have better and longer lives than they would have had in Somalia. Who says crime doesn't pay?

Give each pirate a life jacket. Strap it on them. Then tie a rope around each ankle and tie the rope off to the stern. Toss them in. Pirate Soup.

This punk in the White House is pushing for every Leftist precedent he can. His mission is to destroy the Constitution, and replace it with Marxist doctrine.
Obama is Nikita Khrushchev’s dream revisited.

I feel all warm and fuzzy at just how much the rest of the world loves us now that we replaced that stupid cowboy, Bush, with Obama, the good and saintly.
I've always wanted to see a real keelhauling - I hope someone posts it to YouTube.
