In a good indication that the Wisconsin protests have become a liability for Democrats, the White House and the DNC have clumsily attempted to distance themselves from the event in the New York Times:
Administration officials said Sunday that the White House had done nothing to encourage the demonstrations in Wisconsin nor was it doing so in Ohio, Florida and other states where new Republican governors are trying to make deep cuts to balance their budget.
And, officials and union leaders said, reports of the involvement of the Democratic National Committee specifically Organizing for America, the grass-roots network born of Mr. Obamas 2008 campaign were overblown to start with.
This is a Wisconsin story, not a Washington one, said Dan Pfeiffer, the White House communications director. False claims of White House involvement are attempts to distract from the organic grass-roots opposition that is happening in Wisconsin.
But apparently someone forget to tell the DNCs communication director Bob Woodhouse to scrub his Twitter feed to reflect this new strategy. Doug Ross has pointed out a Feb. 17 Tweet from Woodhouse saying that the White House was proudly playing a role in the protest.
With all of the baseless claims made by Democrats that the Tea Party movement was Republican Party Astroturf, it doesnt seem likely that the GOP will let this blunder by the DNC slide.
Just remember that Hussein is not a crook!

The president, Shutting down a state government with union thug tactics.
Disgusting. No respect for the majority of Wisconsin people who voted for this governor.
The millions of people who purchased guns after Obama was elected have been proved to be wise. A community organizer is a communist thug at heart, no matter how gently he speaks.
The wife always finds you at the end of the trail and does that boot print thing she learned from csi or cold case files.
Too late to distance himself. He already stepped in it.
That’s ok. We will all remember come 2012.
obama is of satan.

Yeah mmercier,
Like we ALL haven’t tracked the pooh across the house at one time or another.
What dind of cook are you?
Exactly. People were so excited about the prospect of voting for a person of color that they didn’t bother to find out what he was all about.
I happened upon NPR yesterday on the car radio and a local protester in WI was being interviewed. He was profuse in his gratitude to Organizing for America, Obama, and the DNC, saying they played an instrumental role.
Pay no attention to that long-legged mac-daddy standing behind the curtain!
Dems are a menace to our nation and damn near everyone living here.
I can hardly wait.
The truth was out there... the pitiful part is that many just ignored the evidence... and much of that evidence was in his own words.

One can only hope - past performance hasn't been too encouraging, but there might be a new dawn breaking.
Some people heard the speeches and just interpreted them all as something favorable to them. Obama is a good orator, but then again, so was Hitler. Like Hitler, Obama told people they were oppressed and that he was going to save them. He created “crises” that didn’t really exist before and exploited them for his own ends. Trouble is, people didn’t see that. They really believed that they were in trouble and that he was their messiah leading them to the promised land.

Ok, maybe not a great orator. What I meant was that he could persuade people with pretty speech, particularly those who are gullible enough to believe him. He has a way of saying things that dazzle his listeners. I think his true believers take his words and assume he means certain things when he doesn’t. He talks round and round and when he’s done, these people think, oh wow — he really cares about us; he’s really going to do all these great things for us; he’s the best and the brightest president we’ve ever had — blah, blah, blah. For example, as far as I know, he has never promised the “free money” to his supporters; yet, there are so many who actually believe that someday they are going to get this huge amount of cash from him. Look at the so-called health care reform. He made so many promises that you and I know are not true; yet, he has so captivated his followers, they just can’t see that those promises are empty, or that even if technically true, they are going to cost all of us (including his followers) big time. They see no downside in anything he says (or does).
