NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Drivers who have filled up their car lately have probably experienced sticker shock at the pump. Gas prices keep going up.

"It's just getting higher and higher," said Nashville driver Robert Reynolds. "It's getting outrageous."

"It's ridiculous we have to pay this much for gas," said Tracy Nolan, another driver.

People pulling up to the pump this week are likely to be paying 4 cents more for gas compared to last week.

The average price for a gallon of unleaded in Nashville is $3.04 cents. Economists are predicting a surge in gas prices because of instability in the Middle East. There are some who say drivers could be paying $5 a gallon for gas by late summer.

You know, that crappy garage in the back of the house could be converted into a stable with a little work. (Hell, it's so crappy that it probably was converted fron a stable at one point ...)

“but with a seat that doesn’t climb up your butt.”

Funny thing...some motorcycles do that too! I also have a CRF450X that I re-engineered to be street legal. Small problem: It has a narrow seat.

My problem is that while I maintain my bikes to perfection I just don’t trust other people’s problems when it comes to bikes. I did notice this evening that Honda has their new CBR250R for about $4,000. Waaaay too small but interesting that they went that direction following the Ninja 250.

I don’t think I want to ride my Venture on a $45 dollar tire, and I know I don’t want to change it myself

My requirement for a M/C tire is its round, rubber, and rolls... LOL!

Ya, changing the tire requires some since of humor, hate of high priced bike shops and a few beers. The hard part is getting the tire off the rim, I know some tricks envoling a truck bumper...after that, its easy...LOL!!

I don't recall gas going over $4 gallon four years ago so looked it up: In 2007 it went above $3.

My senator, Patty Murray (Dumbest Mom in Tennis Shoes) often said, while campaigning, that what the U.S. needed was $5 a gallon gasoline. Then the environmentaly friendly energy things would be able to make it.

Tells a lot about the idiot liberals in Washington State

I live in WA and I know what you mean. Even still, I think Patty cleaned Rossi’s clock in the debates. Rossi came across as a smarmy character with that (I don’t know look) on his face. OTOH, Patty is a liar plain and simple. She didn’t read the health bill, no senator did. Pelosi herself said we have to pass it to know what’s in it. How did Patty know already? Rossi never called her on it.

” I bought a little Ninja 250 “

That’s awesome! How did the little thing ride? Harsh, soft? My wife has a Honda CRF230L. It’s a great little bike that she got right after her license.

Kind of makes me wonder. Before Obama was elected he wanted gas to be $5.00 a gallon.
I look at Drudge and it is like every country in the middle east is being taken over by Muslims, china is calling the shots with our currency. Russia is pushing us around, even N Korea is showing more backbone than us.
A royal wedding in the UK and Obama is not invited. The French think he is insane.

How much of this did he plan all along or know it was coming from the powers that are behind him?

Had to laugh. My first bike was a Honda Cr500 a single banger. Could do anything to that bike and it just kept on riding.

gas .. LOL .. that thing could run on fumes for 50 miles!

The best analogy is of a 10 spd bicycle going 60mph. That is what it felt like. But it was awesome fun!!! Handling was tight. Get use to high RPM's,, shift around 4/5 thousand rpm.......PS,, I'm sure it would do 100mph,, but not with me one it!

CR500. Man, I rode a few of those. They could tear the skin off an ape! Someone told me it was a “woods” bike. Yeah. If those woods were the Redwood Forest!

Wow, looks like I’ll be planning ways to spend more time at home. Maybe buying a bigger TV or bigger popcorn container will help.
