NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Drivers who have filled up their car lately have probably experienced sticker shock at the pump. Gas prices keep going up.
"It's just getting higher and higher," said Nashville driver Robert Reynolds. "It's getting outrageous."
"It's ridiculous we have to pay this much for gas," said Tracy Nolan, another driver.
People pulling up to the pump this week are likely to be paying 4 cents more for gas compared to last week.
The average price for a gallon of unleaded in Nashville is $3.04 cents. Economists are predicting a surge in gas prices because of instability in the Middle East. There are some who say drivers could be paying $5 a gallon for gas by late summer.

“And I believe I heard there is oil for the taking offshore CA and off the east coast. WTH are we not getting it?”
Because we already contracted it out to China?

Yeah, baby!! Those horizontally opposed twins get some pretty good mileage. Used to ride, but getting too old and scared.
$5.00? How about $10.00, if you can get it. This will not end pretty.
I like motorcycles too, but at the cost of over $20,000 dollars you will have to get some really good gas mileage to make it pay for itself.
She’s so smoooooth...she’ll protect you from the elements and bad drivers, too! (OK, maybe not bad drivers, but she only weights 550, so you can avoid the pinheads.)
It’s all about O refusing to allow America to explore and drill for our own oil and gas.
DRILL HERE DRILL NOW
” How about $10.00, if you can get it. This will not end pretty. “
Wonder if we will ever see “$10.00” - I speculate that there is a level, somewhere below $10.00, at which the dollar will collapse, so that the price of a gallon of gasoline will go immediately to $100+... If you can get it...
Not pretty, indeed....
Where is the GOP on this? This should be capitalized on. Perfect opportunity to increased awareness of the weak position our lack of independence put us in.
MPG = Miles per Grin.
My previous was an ST1300. It now cost $16,500, so I might as well go to $21,500 and get a far better bike. Harley’s just don’t offer the same level of features for their premium, but I really, really liked the looks of their new Road Glide Ultra! wow. But it’s $24,500 and 900+ pounds!
Thanks Obama!
The BMW is a great bike.
Harley makes a good motorcycle now.
My only position is that if you are riding a bike to save money it isn’t happening.
Tires every 10,000 miles and maintenence and the original cost eats up any savings you might think to get. Fuel mileage isn’t all that wonderful. I have ridden for over 50 years now and love it, but it isn’t a cheaper way to travel.
Sarah Palin has been consistently pushing Energy Independence for years and in recent speeches has been crying out for freedom from Foreign countries that don’t like us and use oil as a weapon against us! she just said that this past Friday in a Q & A in Long Island.....it’s on FR if you want to see it.
I have ridden for over 50 years now and love it, but it isnt a cheaper way to travel.

The Triumphs get very good fuel economy ... but the rear every 6,000 miles or so and the lack of versatility kill any savings... Of course you could go 3rd world ,, a 175cc single with 20” wheels so you can use bicycle tires..
I bought three used bikes over time, two 2003 honda shadow's 750's/55mpg, and my interstate bike the 2004 Kawasaki Concours, 1000CC/45mpg.
The Concours was made in the USA by the way!!! Each bike, that included aftermarket accessories, $3000.
So, for the cost of the Bemer, you can have a stable of bikes! :)
PS,, the Concours looks alot like the Bem'er........
I was thinking more along the lines of a ten-speed, but with a seat that doesn't climb up your butt.
I disagree,, if you do your own maintenance, and change your own tires,, they are cheaper to travel. My insurance on one Honda 750 is $120/yr. (liability) That alone saves $$$$$. I get my tires on Ebay and usually only pay about $45/tire.
