Reno, Nev. (AP) -- The latest in a string of powerful storms is dropping heavy snow and causing widespread school closures and traffic delays Friday in the Reno-Lake Tahoe area.
The Alpine Meadows ski resort just north of Tahoe reports receiving up to 4 feet of snow over a 24-hour period ending Friday morning for a total of as much as 9 feet of snow since the storms began on Monday. Other Sierra resorts are reporting 4 to 7 feet of new snow this week.

If glo-bull warming causes more snow pack in the Sierras, and this snowmelt flows through dry California, isn’t glo-bull warming a good thing?
But like you say, where is the storage for the snowmelt?
LOL .. The original ‘Mr. FReeZe’ . Obammy is also passing thru the Bay Area and has headed North to Oregon.
It sure got chilly here the last few days and more to come.. about 2 inches here so far since Wednesday.

we didn’t need to build massive ones, a few smaller ones spread around, but nNOoOOoo.. It might harm a 5 fingered newt that lives in a bush or affect the smelt population..
could be skiing all year round at this rate.. the ol’ Truckee river is gonna be flowing real good come spring.
Can’t wait for the media to start announcing that despite all the rain, we’re STILL in a drought. They do it every time.
