Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), the Tea Party Princess, played a noxious game of dodge ball with George Stephanopoulos this morning when he asked her whether she believed that President Obama was born in the United States and is not a Muslim. Leave it to the Tea Party Queen -- Sarah Palin -- to show Bachmann and others in the Republican Party the right way to answer the question.
"Do you question his faith and citizenship?" Palin was asked today during an onstage interview hosted by the Long Island Association. Her answer was brief and to the point.
"I don't, and those are distractions," she said to some applause. "What we're concerned about is the economy. And we're concerned about the policies coming out of his administration and what he believes in terms of big government or private sector. So, no, the faith, the birth certificate, others can engage in that kind of conversation. It's distracting. It gets annoying and let's just stick with what really matters."

What? The most pressing issues before the Republic aren't production of the birth certificate of the Kenyan Muslim?
I'm shocked, shocked that anyone would think that little things like the disastrous and growing Federal deficit and national debt, the failure of this Administration to create private-sector jobs, the looming monster of rampant inflation, the rapidly melting down Middle East and utter evisceration of America's standing in the world, the blatant lawlessness of the Administration over the gulf oil drilling and Obamacare court decisions, and other trivial matters might be more important than some mythical Hawaiian legal document!
Shocked, I tell you!
Just once before I die I would love to hear Palin or any of the possible 2012 candidates answer that question with “I think the guy is a Muzzie lovin Commie from Mombasa, Kenya.” All of the MSM anchors would have a stroke and die on the spot. It would be the greatest quote of alltime. Frankly I figured Ann Coulter would do it but she just won’t.
“She takes him at his word that hes a Christian, dumbnuts.” - says alot about your respect for Christ.
LOL - How many different headlines can this same story be posted under?
Less Government - More Beer
Manage to prove Obama is inlegible and ANY Democrat can win in 2012.
Well, you spent a whole thread focusing on it and seemed delighted with the headlines you think it generated.
Why do you think this sort of headline would help Bachman?
Let me guess....She is even more brilliant than ever!
Well I don’t like Palin’s response. We are free to disagree. But some very smart people say Obama is not a citizen. And I like to read on the issue. So I don’t find a problem with it. But I find a problem with those forcing people not to look into the issue.
I think it would have been a good idea if she said something like “That is not what I am here to talk about today, stop detracting and let’s talk about the economy/immigration/middle east/etc.”
I am not angry at what she said, nor am I a die hard fan. I think she is smart enough to have handled that better.
(As far as a Muslim for President? They don’t believe that rights are endowed by our creator...?)
Nah she played it perfectly. The Supremes are going to have a meeting on this. The press was setting her up to look like a nut, she played it perfectly and disarmed them.
