Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), the Tea Party Princess, played a noxious game of dodge ball with George Stephanopoulos this morning when he asked her whether she believed that President Obama was born in the United States and is not a Muslim. Leave it to the Tea Party Queen -- Sarah Palin -- to show Bachmann and others in the Republican Party the right way to answer the question.
"Do you question his faith and citizenship?" Palin was asked today during an onstage interview hosted by the Long Island Association. Her answer was brief and to the point.
"I don't, and those are distractions," she said to some applause. "What we're concerned about is the economy. And we're concerned about the policies coming out of his administration and what he believes in terms of big government or private sector. So, no, the faith, the birth certificate, others can engage in that kind of conversation. It's distracting. It gets annoying and let's just stick with what really matters."

You serious? Wow, God help us.
As far as I can tell the two women said basically the same thing. We’ll focus on economic issues.
Obviously a single digit IQ is giving you far too much credit.
You people better knock-off this stupid birther sh##.
That is all the corrupt MSM is talking about and Obama is loving every minute of it.
The American people are getting sick of it when unemployment is 10% and our country is falling apart.
There is nothing you can do about it. The document is sealed and will stay sealed.
Stay focus on making sure we don’t have 4 more years of this clown and if you keep up with the birther stuff the clown will be reelected.
you might want to change your screen name, apparently you failed truth 101a.....
C'mon, pissant. Both more or less said the same fecking thing. And *if* I were to take away points it'd be from Bachmann for her insistence that Obama be taken at his word.
Regardless, neither lady should be hammered for being unwilling to get caught up in this.
Feck off you disgusting piece of trash.
“Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.”
Said by a great leader, a very great leader — voted out nevertheless.
Bachmann is purposely fanning the flames. She refused to answer this from Georgie boy:
“But you cant say — you cant sit there and declare that he is a citizen and he is a Christian?”
She changed the subject instead. She knows what she is doing.
Thanks. Always good to hear from the one poster that more than anyone else can make FR feel like a DUmp.
If I’m a Communist President...its better for my agenda if my opponents spend all their time, money , and energy trying to figure out my genetic heritage....rather than creating cogent opposition to my intellectual heritage.
...just sayin’
And it worked perfectly.

It’s not more courageous, but I’m glad that Michele is not making the mistake of taking up this futile cause.
I like Michele and she’s not an idiot. If she wanted to take a stand on the birther issue, it would be a clear indication that she isn’t serious about running and she isn’t.
She is not well known. She has no chance. But she’s a wonderful lady and I’m glad we have her.
We do have to choose but it’s not between Michele and Palin. I know Michele will be a big Palin supporter.
We have to choose between Palin and Romney.
Christie is out. Huckabee’s out. DeMint ??? not that well known or charismatic.
You do Michele no favors by attempting to paint her as focusing on this birther issue.
It may have some substance but there’s little real chance it will come to anything. If you want to tilt at windmills, go ahead, but no serious candidate will FOCUS on this borderline issue.
I did not say she focused on it. I said she handled Georgie Boy Stephanopoulis hounding very well. And, importantly, she did it in such a manner that it would generate lotsa headlines saying she sides with the birthers. There are a couple dozen out already.
I certainly won’t be supporting any candidate for any office who has no regard for their oath to support and defend the Constitution. Doesn’t matter what party label they’re wearing. That’s irrelevant.
