Fox News Highlights Nazi, Hitler Signs in Wisconsin Pension Debate, Networks Skip Controversy
newsbusters ^ | 2/17/11 | Scott Whitlock

The network morning shows on Thursday failed to find any controversy in union protests from Wisconsin, ignoring the signs comparing Scott Walker, the state's Republican governor, to the Taliban, the Nazis and Hitler. Fox News, on the other hand, highlighted the attacks on "Mullah Walker."

Wisconsin radio talk show host Vicki McKenna appeared on Your World With Neil Cavuto to discuss the battle over whether state employees will have to pay more for their pension and health care. Citing the attacks by liberals, she informed, "I have been called the Taliban, Hitler...I mean, anything that involves dictator, tyrants or genocide, historical references to slavery."

In comparison, Good Morning News anchor Juju Chang spun the story: "Well, a bill seen as the most aggressive anti-union proposal in the country goes up for a vote in Wisconsin today." She simply claimed that state workers are "swarming the capitol in protest."

Early Show news anchor Jeff Glor defined the protest as "a dramatic showdown between state workers and the Governor." Yet, CBS didn't inform viewers that many of the marchers were holding signs with targets over the Governor or comparing him to Egypt's dictator Hosni Mubarak.

Seems like yesterday when all media outlets were pounding on this idea that we need to be more “civil.” Apparently the MSM has changed their minds and now endorses witch hunting hatemongering.

The distance between the clean, orderly and arrest-free Tea Party gatherings and this violent, pro-socialism temper tantrum is a million miles.

But CNN, PMSNBC and their biased ilk will not mention this, and will refer to the Madison chaos as “largely peaceful”.

Stand your ground, Gov. Walker. Those who truly want the best for this nation support you!

Did they show Gov. Walker’s face with crosshairs focused on his forehead as Rush reported today? Those hateful Democrats need to be held up as the rotten people they are.

The worse this gets, the louder I laugh.

These lib fools have no idea how much they are pissing off America.

Here is a little gas for the fire.

AFSCME—American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees sent me the below in an email just a few minutes ago. NO, I am not a union member.

—”Fourteen brave Democrats in the Wisconsin state Senate have fled their state rather than take part in a vote on Gov. Scott Walker’s plan to wipe out collective bargaining rights for public employees. The majority Republicans need at least one Democrat present before they can conduct the vote.

Now that they’ve left the state, should we invite the “Wisconsin 14” to safe haven in Washington state, where Senate Republicans here want to follow the Scott Walker plan?

Senate Republicans introduced three measures (SB 5349, SB 5345 and SB 5347) to wipe out Washington’s state employee collective bargaining, union and contracting out rights.”

Take the survey and tell us if we should invite the “Wisconsin 14” here.

It is getting increasingly difficult to parody these people. That fund-raising letter sounds like "the Ballad of Sir Robin" from Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Since they are refusing to do their jobs, the Gov should instruct the state treasurer to stop paying them and since they are no longer in office, their staffs should be locked out and payment also stopped.

But..but...that can't be right! The Dems issued a statement that they were right there "standing with the people of Wisconsin".

Bravely bold Sir Robin rode forth from Camelot
He was not afraid to die, O brave Sir Robin
He was not at all afraid to be killed in nasty ways
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Robin
He was not in the least bit scared
to be mashed into a pulp
Or to have his eyes gouged out and his elbows broken
To have his kneecaps split and his body burned away
And his limbs all hacked and mangled, brave Sir Robin
His head smashed in and his heart cut out
And his liver removed and his bowels unplugged
And his nostrils raped and his bottom
burnt off and his penis...
He is brave Sir Robin,

Brave Sir Robin who...
To fight and...............
Brave Sir Robin ran away
Bravely, ran away...away...
When danger reared its ugly head
He bravely turned his tail and fled
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
And gallantly he chickened out
Bravely taking to his feet
He beat a very brave retreat
Bravest of the brave, Sir Robin

[later]

He is packing it in and packing it up
And sneaking away and buggering off
And chickening out and pissing off home,
Yes, bravely he is throwing in the sponge.

On Fox this evening I caught a glimpse of a sign with the words “MEMPHIS 1968” on it. What kind of dillweed equates a budget bill with the murder of MLK?

Great minds think alike. When it came out that these guys had fled the state, I told my wife, “If I was [Charlie Sykes, 620 WTMJ talk host] I’d open my show with ‘Brave Sir Robin’ tomorrow morning.”
