Missing Wisconsin Dem speaks: We're MIA until GOP drops assault on workers rights (Impeach 'em!)
washington post ^ | 2/17/2011 | Greg Sargent

Posted on 02/17/2011 2:54:47 PM PST by tobyhill

just got off the phone with Wisconsin State Senator Chris Larson, one of the Democrats who has left the capitol in order to stall the GOP's plan to rolll back the bargaining rights of public employees. Speaking to me by cell phone from an undisclosed location, Larson said he and his fellow Democrats would not return until the GOP takes its assault on organizing rights "off the table."

"Each of us is in a secure location," he told me, confirming that they were not all together but were monitoring events on the Web and on Twitter. Larson refused to say whether he and his fellow Dems had left the state, as some have speculated.

Cut their paychecks off and they will throw the unions overboard faster than you can say “Bill Clinton.”

The GOP leaders should take it off the table and then when the Dems return lock the doors and put it back on the table. Problem solved.

Next?

After watching the “Gatorade Duals” and thinking of it like a figurative Noahs Ark Race of the 2x2 racing I am beginning to wonder if the liberal democrats are also pairing up figuratively.

2x2...in undisclosed locations?

OMG its almost too good for popcorn!

They are not secure. Gov Walker knows where they are. The Wisconsin State Police stormtroopers are on their way.

Yeah, we’re all downtrodden workers—some more downtrodden then others.

People, you need to suck it up. Quit acting like pigs at the trough.

I am confused how they have the vote ... but don't have enough for a quorum? do they have a requirement that far more than just a majority have to be present? and if so why? why would it ever be necessary for more than a majority to be present in any voting situation?

LOL

I’m busy cheering that these greedy people can be revealed to who they really are.

Unproductive leeches, sucking down working Americans hard earned money, to support their unaccountable unAmerican gulag called schools.

Wait them out. Eventually, they will need to show up. Also, go get a Republican judge to issue an arrest warrant for each of them so they can be held once they return to the state (which they will).

Until then, tell the voters the Democrats are abandoning their constituents and causing a possible state government shutdown. Let THEM feel the heat.

When this happened in Texas, the GOP eventually caved. Be stronger than that this time.

Declare the democrat senators to have vacated their seats by deliberately not showing up for work and thus, not allowing government to normally function.

The WI Governor does have the power to issue writs of election for vacant seats in the assembly and the senate. The question would arise does deliberately disobeying the law by not showing up when required constitute a senator vacating his seat? I would think duration and the fact it impedes the ability of government to function, a case could be made for it.

They are apparently at a Best Western in Rockford Illinois. Care to have some fun? Call and ask to be transfered to them. Jamming the hotel switchboard will make them unwanted guests in a hurry.

Clock Tower Resort and Conference Center 7801 East State Street Rockford, IL 61108 (815) 398-6000

Ask for: Tim Carpenter, Spencer Coggs, Tim Cullen, Joe Erpenbach, Dave Hansen, Jim Holperin, Robert Jauch, Dan Kapanke, Chris Larson, Julie Lassa, Mark Miller, Fred Riser, Lena Taylor, Kathleen Vinehout, or Robert Wirch.

If the hard-working people of Wisconsin put up with this ridiculous act of arrogance from the Democrat legislators, they deserve what they’ll get: more union thuggery and higher taxes. However, if they turn the tables on these clowns and demand their immediate resignations for attempting to thwart democracy and willfully neglecting their duty to be present for a vote, then Wisconsin will have made a significant advance in throwing off the shackles of economy-killing liberalism. I pray the latter will be the result.

Yeah, who are they exactly?

Maybe people can go visit THEIR homes like the thugs are doing to Walker’s family.

Doesn’t Wisc have that bit in their congressional rules about: “...until such time as it is determind that the office holder is unwilling, unable, or unfit to fulfill the duties of their office....”?

Our governor (PA) canceled a $200 million prison today. It would have held 2000 prisoners and created 635 new state jobs.

Fiscal responsibility is breaking out all over, and the bums are doing their best to stop it.
