Ron Paul Is A Vicious Anti-Semite and Conservatives Need To Wash Their Hands of Him
David Horowitz's NewsReal Blog ^ | February 17, 2010 | David Horowitz

Posted on 02/17/2011 11:23:56 AM PST by HorowitzianConservative

Long ago Bill Buckley drummed the anti-Semites out of the conservative movement, and the movement thrived as a result. But the Jew-haters have returned. For years the Texas crackpot, Ron Paul, has been attacking America and Israel as imperialist powers -- the Great Satan and the Little Satan, and calling for America's retreat from the battle against our totalitarian enemies. At the recent CPAC conference Paul's Jew-hating storm-troopers swarmed the Freedom Center's table to vent their spleen against Israel as a Nazi state. Now Paul is making a priority of withdrawing aid for Israel  -- the only democracy in the Middle East and the only reliable ally of the United States. Here is an alert from Gary Bauer about the amendment Ron Paul is proposing which may be voted on today.

To maintain movement unity and get rid of the obvious looney-tunes that make us look bad.

Just like you cut out a cancerous tumor, you cut out fringe kooks. Ron Paul is a fringe kook. I was convinced of that when he came up with the quaint 18th Century idea of using Letters of Marque to arrest and try terrorists.

Eh, isn’t a Scriptural point a view on the defense of Israel derived from the notion that she should rely on only the Lord, and herself, for her own defense?

Must admit I struggle with that notion myself, however the OT is rife with reliance on Foreign Power being one of the things that signals that Israel is in deep deep trouble?

Huh?

How does being against sending US dollars overseas make one a ‘vicious anti-semite’???

Does voting against Obama make you a ‘vicious racist’?

I am 100% in support of Israel, and NOT a huge Paul supporter, but I hate when they toss names like this around.

I like his IDEAS but I dont want him to run for Pres.

He's the Ernest T. Bass of the Right and I am afraid we have as much chance ridding ourselves of him and Mayberry had with getting rid of their pest.

The Left has their Larouchers, and we will always have our Paultards. But there isn't a hairs width of difference between the two.

Rather than financing both sides of the never-ending "dispute" in the Middle East, why don't we offer to provide a safe, American home to any and all of the six to seven million Israeli jews who want to come to the United States? We can easily absorb every one of them and it's the right thing to do.

Remember the St. Louis? Let's offer real help this time.

When has Ron Paul ever characterized the US and Israel as the Great Satan and the Little Satan? This smells like more of Horowitz’s over-the-top attacks. He disagrees with Paul; fine, but imputing Iran-style rhetoric to an opponent is gross hysteria and justifiable only if founded on the hardest of facts.

And also get rid of the coterie of sycophant Paultards that infest FR like stink bugs.

Along with the truly hateful PDSers as well.

My understanding is that in the End,
Israel will stand alone

FOR THE VERY REASON

that she’ll have to turn to God for salvation.

In the mean time, I believe “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you” still stands.

There’s a book out called “As We Have Done to Israel” that details the disasters that have happened to America when we’ve done them dirty.

Exactly, Paul is far more of a LPer than a Conservative, Neo or otherwise, but why is he aligned with the R’s and not the D’s?

Probably for pro-life and tax policy reasons.

Exactly, Paul is far more of a LPer than a Conservative, Neo or otherwise, but why is he aligned with the R’s and not the D’s?

He believes those policies more closely mirror the intent of the founders than the current over taxation and international adventurism we currently practice. Fiscal liberty and an avoidance of foreign entanglements are not necessary bad things.

Here is a timely article on the subject.

Ron Paul is a crackpot. Like Pat Buchanan, if he isn’t anti-Semitic, he is such a close clone that there is little difference.

Rand Paul, I don’t know. But the apple never falls far from the tree.

as a Christian nation, we have a spiritual obligation/charge to defend Israel.

This sort of thinking scares me. Muslim countries have obligation because they are Muslim. Christian countries have obligations because they are Christian. The Jewish country has obligations because they are Jewish and on and on and on.

We have obligations because we are free people. Believing a country must act in a certain way because of a certain religion is UnAmerican.

He might be a kook, but he will vote to slash your taxes, kill ObamaCare, investigate the Fed. Reserve, put up a border fence, end the welfare state, define life at conception, and keep the gun grabbing a**holes like Rudy and Mitt at bay.

“Goldwater also wanted to purge the Christian Right. Smart man.”

OK Pissant, I am taking that one personally.

Take the Christian Right out of the Republicans and what do you have left?

Country Club Republicans and Libertarians, that’s what.

I don’t disagree with that. Ron Paul and his ilk are oblivious about the Islamic threat. I like isolationism but the world will be coming at us even if we disengage completely. So we must engage and make friends instead of just signing business contracts with foreigners

Libertarians think everything can be reduced to commerce
Like I said>>> Ron Pauls followers are much worse than him. Half are illogical (911 was an inside job) potheads going on about “false flag operations”. A phrase they never heard of a few months ago.

Well, let me put it this way, if simply supporting/not supporting the state of Israel is or is not anti-semitic, it’s more complicated than that. I am genuinely concerned with this state of Israel because biblically, relying on foreign alliances was not a good sign for the Lord’s people, such as allying with Egypt. I understand well that they are among the most liberal nations in the Middle East now, but how we deal with them as allies is certainly debatable, IMHO, questions have to be asked about that, and we may have to consider the details of how we do it.

As far as Ron Paul goes, it’s all a question of how voters go regarding him. They didn’t choose him in the past election, and I honestly believe his electoral results can handle whatever problems may arise regarding him.

And withdrawing foreign aid for Egypt and Jordan makes Ron Paul anti-Muslim. Holding back foreign aid for the Ukraine means Rep. Paul is anti-Ukrainian.
Ditto for India, Russia and Peru. RP is Anti-Indian, anti-Russian, and anti-Peruvian.
Not to mention Haiti ...

Oh yeah, Ron Paul is such a hater for wanting to keep your tax dollars at home!

roll eyes for the tone-deaf

Believing a country must act in a certain way because of a certain religion is UnAmerican.

Do you mean "believing OUR country must..."
And if so, what do you base this assertion on?

If he's referencing William F. Buckley, Jr. then that's true, he did separate the mainstream conservative movement from people like the John Birch Society, libertarians like Ayn Rand, anti-Semites, but he also later wrote a book called In Search of Anti-Semitism which would be critical of finding anti-Jewish feeling everywhere and in anyone disagreeing with American policy regarding Israel, when it isn't. I saw him defend his thesis at the Young Men's Hebrew Association in Manhattan to a mostly Jewish audience. Further bankrupting America in Israel's interest, isn't ultimately in Israel's interest either, it seems to me. And that's especially a valid argument if Israel's interests are more important than America's are, to you. I haven't seen the anti-Semitism Ron Paul is accused of, just a longstanding interest in what's best for America, as far as he sees it. Where is the incriminating evidence? I'm not asking that rhetorically - someone can respond with links.
