Rep. Burt Solomons, R-Carrollton, filed the sanctuary cities bill this morning. HB 12 prohibits cities or counties from ignoring federal or state laws regarding immigration.
Gov. Rick Perry last month declared the issue an emergency, allow lawmakers to deal with before waiting the required 60 days necessary to consider legislation at the start of a regular legislative session.
"We have to have a uniform, consistent policy so that we don't interfere with federal or state laws with federal immigration enforcement," Solomons said.
The legislation prohibits local governmental bodies from adopting ordinances or policies that allows them to turn the other way when it comes to immigration matters. For example, a local police department may not be prohibited from asking someone's immigration status if that person is legally detained.

Any city official not following the laws and aiding and abetting illegals/criminals should be considered a criminal himself.

It’s about time!
Put Fort Worth at the top of the list.
That piece O crap Moncrief has been welcoming illegals to Cowtown for way too long.
Now he has decided not to run for re-election. Well, he has
done enough damage to our city, so he can get out now!!!
Tar and feather.....

Any local governmental body cannot receive state grant money if they adopt a policy or ordinance that prohibits the enforcement of state or federal law regarding immigration. And the legislation allows the Texas attorney general's office to force local governments to enforce state and federal laws.

Everybody in Texas email or call your state rep to support this.
Obviously if they are a DemoRatard they won’t but the
Republicans need to know in no uncertain terms that they are being watched.

What makes me mad; is it only took the Dems scant time to do damage while the Republicans are moving like turtles when they can undo this damage in the blink of an eye.

Gov. Rick Perry last month declared the issue an emergency, allow lawmakers to deal with before waiting the required 60 days necessary to consider legislation at the start of a regular legislative session. Why would they even bother if they wouldn't enforce it?

Texas just got back in session...and are moving to pass legislation...before working on re-districting...they are moving pretty fast.
Personally, I think because of zero and his administrations lawlessness and the fact he is most likely an illegal alien...they should file papers to impeach him. Republicans do not won't to touch these issues...however, it is their responsibility.

Spelling is sooo overrated, if it can be understood.
