MADISON, Wis. Police officers are looking for Democratic Wisconsin lawmakers who were ordered to attend a vote on a bill that would strip public employees of collective bargaining rights.
No Democrats showed up for Thursday's Senate session, meaning a vote cannot be taken. Republicans need one Democratic senator to be present. Calls to Democratic leaders were not immediately returned.
Republicans are pushing the anti-union bill proposed by GOP Gov. Scott Walker. Thousands of people clogged the halls of the Statehouse for a third straight day in opposition.
Protesters clogged the hallways of the Wisconsin state Capitol on Thursday as the Senate prepared to pass a momentous bill that would strip government workers, including school teachers, of nearly all collective bargaining rights.

The Democrats recent actions, from Obama’s “budget,” down to shennanigans like this in the Wisconsin legislature have clearly communicated one thing: the Democrats aren’t interested in any act that will pull themselves away from government largesse and spending; their only “solution” moving forward is to raise taxes.

They’ll flee to a neighboring state like the Texas Dems did in 2003. Our libtards fled to a hotel in Ardmore, OK for 4 days to kill a vote on redistricting. Perry sent the Texas Rangers after them but they crossed the border before we could nab their sorry @sses.

Well, at least we'll get to see if the Wisconsin Republicans have more of a commitment to honor their word than appears to be happening with our majority in the national House.
The leaders of the Wisconsin senate should make it crystal clear that the first order of business whenever a quorum is achieved will be this vote -- Go on the offensive with the "offensive" Democrats.

Here’s an idea - have one of the Republicans switch his party membership to Democrat.
Then take the damn vote.

Democrats who refuse to show up should be considered to have resigned.

Couldn't the Republicans substitute a ringer and accept his “credentials” by unanimous acclaim? I'm sure that's what the Democrats would do if the shoe were on the other foot. There won't be anyone there to challenge them.

This is a leason for every State Governor who tries to do this. Have a State patrol unit assigned to every Dem Senator and Congressperson before a vote on this type of legislation is taken. Drag the Democrat A$$ to the floor of their respective house and make them attend!

Our MN rats did something similar when the concealed and carry law came up for vote in 2003.
They were dubbed the Flowerpot Ganghiding among the giant potted plants in the capitol rotunda at the time.

The governor should announce that any democrat who does not show up would be considered to have resigned and therefore a new election would be held in those districts.
To: cripplecreek
Democrats who refuse to show up should be considered to have resigned.Agreed. The Governor should give them three business days to be in the chamber unless they can prove, by a doctor's diagnosis, an incapacitating illness -- and even in that case, there would be a ten business day limit.
At that time, he could declare the seats open and hold special elections, or appoint, as needed.
