What would you say if your next door neighbor opened up a bikers' bar and strip joint?
Nonsense. His right to enjoy his private property ends when his lights shine across the property line onto the neighbor’s house.
This guy is a nut. He thinks “the Lord” told him to put this cross up and keep it up. He equates resistance to him to hatred of God.
“BTW, it does look tasteless and garish even in the picture. “
I think we have a constitutional right to be tasteless and garish.
I would not do this to my neighbors, though. Jesus did not command us to put big old lit up crosses in our yards. There are so many ways he could be a testimony. The man is probably a little off his bean.
I would not complain if I was his neighbor, either.
I would not like a light shining right into my bedroom window, but, I wonder if that allegation is being exaggerated.
If he had an image of a machete and a severed Jewish or Christian head he would have no problem.
How does one “exaggerate” the effects of a 24-foot tall lighted cross shining on one’s house?
Nonsense. A nuisance is a nuisance. This is not animated by a bias against Christians.
That depends on the quality of the strippers. ;)
They’d never get it rezoned.
But then, I’d never move in to a place that bordered a business.
“How does one exaggerate the effects of a 24-foot tall lighted cross shining on ones house?”
Well, I don’t know. I suppose the lights are trained on the cross, not shooting out of it.
There could be many yards between the cross and the neighbor’s window.
There may be only indirect or ambient light emanating.
That sort of thing.
If you train a floodlight into my bedroom window, I’m going to complain. I am just not sure it’s reached that level of obnoxious.
agreed.
I hate having to pay my hoa, but having had sloppy, uncarring neighbors, its the price I pay to have things remain at the very least, neat.
We used to have a neighbor that had a fuel truck. He parked it down the street so THEY didn’t have to look at it.
I live in the area. I’ve seen it on the TV news. It’s not an exaggeration.
“I live in the area. Ive seen it on the TV news. Its not an exaggeration.”
I’ll take your word for it!
You are another religious nut.
“She accuses him of not being a *good Christian* just because he does something she doesn’t like.”
You are so ...... I can’t believe what you just wrote!!!!
It is license to drive the entire neighborhood crazy because one is a so called Christian. That sounds very un Christian or unreligious to me.
That person, to include yourself, needs serious psycho therapy since it is thought the world revolves around you and only you.
Get some serious help.
One can be religious without inflicting it on the entire neighborhood.
Would you like it if I took a religious Muslim sign what ever and lit it near your home in the name of religion? Would you be so religious tolerant?
Would you like it if I took some animal sacrifice religion and lit it near your home in the name of religion? Would you be so religious tolerant?
Would you like it if I took the Booba Booga Human Sacrifice Religion near your home in the name of religion? Would you be so religious tolerant?
No? You wouldnt?
Hmmmmm.
Again. Get serious medical help.
You ducked the question.
Well, right now I live in a completely residential neighborhood.
If someone tried to open something like that, I’d have recourse to get it stopped as it WOULD be violating zoning restrictions.
So, how does a strip club and biker bar equate to a large lit cross in your mind?
But since you believe in personal property rights you would NEVER consider taking recourse ....
You do realize that this large lit cross is a zoning violation.
funny thing about property rights. This guy isnt the only one in the neighborhood with property rights.
