Over the past few weeks I've been compiling various ping lists via requests on some of my Freep posts.
This is the first viewing offered.
It's sparse; I'm sure there's plenty more Freep ping lists out there. And it's not viewed by millions. But I will put the URL in my sig line when I post on FreeRepublic and I'm a frequent poster. I will also be designing a big banner on my sidebar for folks who read my regular Blog posts. Might get some attention.
There's instructions on the post how to add your ping list to this Blog but since you're reading this, just freepmail with a description of your ping list, a picture if you want one, and your Freepmail addy.

Folks,
Thank you for indulging me by responding to this ancient post via my pings.
This was a post I put up back in early Feb. 2011 in which...well you know...the Freep ping list.
I have not forgotten. In fact, I have been working diligently on this task and I’ve got good and not so good, news.
I needed a system to put the name of the ping list, a contact for the ping list, some kind of description of the ping list. I most needed a way to sort the ping lists by some kind of category as rows and rows of ping lists mean nothing if you’re looking for something specific.\
TADA!
EXCEL!
Well I was oncit an Accountant and Accountants use Excel to write their letters, draw their pictures and, at times, do the math.
I used Excel to create a table, which converts, if you use the right codes, into an HTML table.
A link provided below for you to look but before...
I sure didn’t have much room to do much more than put a link to the ping list owner’s Freepmail, a very short description of the ping list as part of that Freepmail URL, a column for the ping list category and a column for the ping list owner’s Freep name.
I am able to add to my spreadsheet handily and re-sort with no bother so it is very amenable to upkeep. I hoped to add pictures and a longer description of the ping list as provided by ping list owner and still can do this. For now, well you gotta start somewhere.
On this thread many of you provided me with many other names of ping list owners. I am now just getting around to adding them all. I will get all ping list owners provided on this thread into the table and THEN I will fine tune it with pics and longer descriptions.
Finally, since this is on my Blog, it really needs to be moved to a fresh, clean Blog without all that sidebar stuff. For now I’ll keep it there and note that my sig line has the URL to access the ping list.
Just so you know, your comments/suggestions welcome and know that I intend to make this happen.
If anybody knows spreadsheets I’d be glad to email a copy of this one. It’s a real hoot and been a real learning experience.
I had to start somewhere.
And so I did. Make sure you scroll down to see my nifty table.

Alleluia Ping (right now during Lent there are other words — but basically Alleluia Ping.
Oregon Ping
Catholic Ping
That should do it for me.
Do you want to add to this compilation?
I don’t own any ping lists. Dolly Cali owns the ‘V’ pinglist.
Please correct.
Thank you...am correcting now.
F-16 Ping
ACORN Ping
Active Duty/Retiree Ping
And I co-manage the Goldbug Ping with jiggyboy.
Okay got you.
What exactly kind of category would a Goldbug ping list fall in?
Business/economics.
Kevin Davis runs the sci-fi ping list, and also one on the science of space travel.
Joe Brower runs the Florida ping list.
Nice chart. Hope you plan to post it here on FR.
FYI, please add Dixie Sass and SC Swamp fox to the South Carolina list. We co-manage it.
And please add the Alvin Green list co-managed by me and SC Swamp Fox.
Guilty as charged. $;-)
I also have a private RKBA list with almost 600 names.
Moral Absolutes
Homosexual Agenda
Terri Dailies
I ask your indulgence once again as I have finally been through this thread and got all the Blogs listed on the Excel table, sorted by Ping list type and up on the Blog.
I ask that you check your ping list, the link to your Freepmail addy, and anything else that you’d like changed.

We’re limited right now in that I am on a learning curve here, having just discovered the miracle of Excel tables and their translation to HTML.
But I have big plans and intend to continue on.
Yet to begin, we must have the info as provided accurate.
In the future, as I tweak and learn, I plan to put pictures as you’d like for your ping list, more descriptive date...this within the table.
The Excel table allows for deletion of ping lists/plus additions, to be quite simple as maintaining a FreeRepublic ping list was always the biggest hurdle of all.
You’d get someone to go through all the work of compiling one, but to update the thing was a muddle through endless verbiage and so. If I die, someone who knows Excel (and this is quite simple Excel stuff) should be my backup for this spreadsheet.
I am also planning to put this thing on an entirely separate Blog than mine, which should be a simple matter as I have a slew of Blogs that no one reads.
Finally, once a week or so I plan on putting up a post in the Blogger/Chat section of FreeRepublic featuring special Ping lists of the week, the funniest ping post .the possibilities are endless.
I will add or take away ping lists but must out of time constraints only accept these changes once a month or so.
You gotta start somewhere, and so I have.
We now have, where we’ve been going all along...A PING LIST...PING LIST!
And you’re on it!
My link is working fine. Thanks again for compiling all these!
Works for me!
Gotta do something about that picture, though.
It’s old! The baby is 25 and married, now.
Thank you for all of your work.
Master ping list from Aug17,2008, see post #306.

For the time being, I have handed management of the Michigan ping list to magslinger. Thanks!
