On Friday February 11, the day Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak stepped down, CBS correspondent Lara Logan was covering the jubilation in Tahrir Square for a 60 MINUTES story when she and her team and their security were surrounded by a dangerous element amidst the celebration. It was a mob of more than 200 people whipped into frenzy.
In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers. She reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning. She is currently in the hospital recovering.
There will be no further comment from CBS News and Correspondent Logan and her family respectfully request privacy at this time.

Knew something was going on when she was not on air from here in US after returning to CONUS.
This rumor has been working for a few days, and was all but confirmed by the lack of comment or denials from anyone at Black Rock or West 57th.
Some may say Logan has a checkered past, but nothing deserves this!
When 3 CBS engineers were killed by a perp years ago, Rather went into a (well deserved) on-air outrage. This time, there will probably be nothing, because, Lord knows, we don’t want to upset the “Arab Street.” Source with many years in SWA says many Muslims will approve of this, because, it was an infidel getting what she deserved.
When will the rest of America wake up?

Any woman who is blond with pale skin is an idiot to go to Egypt or any Muslim country. If she goes with her husband or boyfriend and stays covered up then she has a chance to be unmolested by these inbred morons.
I recall looking her up online then and quickly learning of her looks and of her earlier reputation in UK for using them to advance her career. But I still think of her as more than just a pretty face atop a stacked figure. As with Palin, don't let her pretty packaging make you overlook the impressive package within. In her repeated service as a war correspondent she's proven she has bigger b*lls than most of the male reporters. Being wounded by an IED hadn't stopped her risk taking. I don't regularly watch MSM, but what I've seen of her coverage seems fairer than most.
I hope she recovers well both mentally and physically from this. She'd known this kind of thing could happen, had discussed it on the air in the past and had tried to prepare herself for the possibility. It will be interesting to see how it affects her reporting. If she wants to comment on it the CBS will have to let her do so, PC or not, with minimal editing, at least for a while. Almost as much as they'll have to report whatever Gabby Giffords says unedited once she's able to comment publically on her shooting. And the rest of the MSM will have to report her comments as well. At a sadly steep price she's gained some power. I don't know just how liberal she really was. Her background as a white originally from South Africa was already quite different than what produced most MSM drones. It will be interesting to see how this affects her. The old definition of a conservative being a liberal who was mugged by reality comes to mind.

Islam despises them and the left’s infatuation with deviancy (same-sex marriage, pedophilia, homosexual indoctrination, fornication, adulery, divorce, etc) and their strict adherence to a culture of death (i.e. abortion, euthanasia, infanticide, etc) and atheism simply is used against all of us in the west, by the Islamists, as proof that the west is truly the Great Satan.
It is a pipe dream that Egypt will ever be anything other than an Islamc State...with all the peace of Islam, of course. There is absolutely nothing installed to foster a real democracy. There is plenty installed to implement an Islamic State.

Seriously, though, I offer prayers for Ms. Logan on a speedy recovery.
She may have realized that and thought getting raped was a real possibility but it’s her job to go in there.
