Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano released a budget document on Monday that indicates that the Department of Homeland Security does not intend to put a single additional mile of the U.S. border under “effective control” in either fiscal year 2011 or 2012. According to Napolitano's budget plan, the Border Patrol had 1,007 miles of the U.S. border under "effective control" at the end of fiscal year 2010, and DHS aims to stick with exactly that number through this year and next. The willful inertia of this government is enough to make you go absolutely insane. There are 536 people pulling the levers that control a nation of 300+ million. They were put there first and foremost to provide for the common defense and to implement the will of the people. They refuse to do so (poll after poll shows huge support for a border fence.
Or have her ride with a couple of Border agents on the midnight to eight shift for several nights.

I would hope Palin would keep Janet on the job for a week or two after innaguration. She would order her down to the most violent part of the border and order her to stay there for week in a tent....
We should tattoo this to their forearms so they have to read it everyday when they wake up.
if the federal governments main purpose is to provide for the common defense of the country, and they willfully admit to actively not doing the job...
why should we continue funding them?
this would be akin to going to a fast food restaurant, ordering food, paying for it ... and not getting anything. when you ask where’s your meal, the cashier states they have no intention of providing you with any more service.
of course, the fed gov is worse. with the fast food joint, you can choose to go to another. with the fed gov, they are the only restaurant in town.
If ever there was an agency that needs every dime, it's immigration and border control!
The reason the immediate border areas of the US are so peaceful is that smugglers..human and drugs..just want to get clear of that area without encountering any law enforcement or attention. It isn’t because we have them sealed. The border of AZ and Texas is mostly open territory where smugglers can cross most anywhere.
We need to raise this issue higher..a lot with a lot of others. We need to hold their feet to the fire.
I’m with Rush..we may need a Cairo style event in DC and State capitals...demostrations with no permits.
Didn’t congress authorize and fund the fence?
If she stops the fence, isn’t she derelect in her duty?

That’s funny. I would hope she would be angry enough about all this unbelievably stupid stuff to do just that. Would do a lot of people’s hearts good.

That is what they want. They are pushing and prodding us
to those ends so they can justify labeling average Joe as
a threat. Check out their definition of national emergency
and you’ll find political uprising as a reason for martial
law. They are already doing that with the tea party.

Amazing isn’t it!? They campaign as Americans. They sound, and look like Americans. They say enough to make us believe they are Americans, and that they know the Constitution, and what the Constitution is all about, but then they turn around once we give them our blessings as representatives of the will of us, and fully act as though they are representatives of some mythical World order instead of we the people. They flip us the birdie, and heed the wants of other interests, and charge us the bill.
There has to be a major demonstration of our will to convince these wandering representatives of their errant ways.
