Mediaite ^ | 2/14/11 | Matt Schneider

Republican Senator John McCain appeared on Face the Nation this morning and was happy with the news from Egypt so far, but stressed the importance of there being free and fair elections in the country. Most interestingly though, he did not take a tough stand against inclusion of the Muslim Brotherhood in that process, departing from the view of some his Republican colleagues. McCain elaborated: “We have reasons to be concerned about the Muslim Brotherhood, but at the same time for us to dictate what the role they should play in a way may be harmful to us

It is really not our business what form of government the Egyptians choose; but if they choose badly we have to ready to respond to the predictable results.

McCain is absolutely correct. We should butt out and let the Muslim Brotherhood hijack this movement (as likely they will).

Why should we be concerned if radical Islamists take over Egypt? Who cares if they obtain access to sophisticated U.S. military hardware like the Abrahms main battle tank? Who cares if they come to power and work closely with Iran destabilize the Middle East and threaten Israel?

I mean really, who cares?

(Do I really need an /s tag?)

John got hit in the head from his captors one too many times.

Let them take over. then all the terrorists will be in one place planning the next 911. then we level egypt. everyone said the problem with fighting terrorism is that they are not like the germans or japs in WW2. now they can have a country and we have a target.
Give our regards to King Tut A$$HOLES.

Of course he is correct. It’s not as if we could dictate to Egypt if we wanted to. I would think the ousting of the US-sponsored dictator would prove that point.

I agree - unless we accept that the world should have a role in dictating to us, we should have no role in dictating to others. It has always gotten us into trouble.
