What will happen Monday, history will record in less than 24 hours. The atmosphere is filled by suspense over the call for demonstration. Certainly the city is not calm. There were chants of "Allah-o akbar" across Tehran. People expect something to happen. Publicly, Mr. Karroubi and Mr. Mousavi have called for a demonstration in solidarity with the people of Egypt. Nobody thinks or believes this is about Egypt or will remain focused on Egypt. No wonder that their request has been rejected as illegal. Their advisers have announced that according to Article 27 of Iran's Constitution there is no need for a permit. It must be noted that both leaders are under house arrest now. Most likely they will be prevented from attending the demonstration. [While Karroubi has been under house arrest for four days, there is no independent confirmation that Mousavi has been similarly confined. As we noted two-and-a-half hours ago, a senior adviser to the former presidential candidate says that his mobile phone has been disconnected and it has not been possible to reach him. --Ed.]

Middle East in chaos....how this all plays out is questionable as we see Egypt continue to protest at every level...from workers to their police...all demonstrating. How then does commerce and daily life continue with the whole area in turmoil....this will indeed affect far more than than the Middle East. It’s like they’re imploding.
First, rich oil gulf states will pull their money, major investments out of there (Egypt) in a New York Minute. That will add to further joblessness, unemployment, stagnation, and then social chaos and out of it, voila, a SAVOIR (they will turn to Islamic Fundamentalism in DROVES).

Sure looks like that’s the plan. Do the people have any idea what they are setting themselves up for in the M.E........this is not going to play out well.
Americans have a bad national characteristic (among many excellent ones) now well established throughout history replete with examples, where it gets clarion, unmistakeable threats and warning signs ALL THE TIME of impending foreign danger(s), but still, even in light of that, due to insularity or laziness or whatever, only wakes up until AFTER it gets sucker punched in the head and there are already dead Americans.
This time in the Middle East will be no different.
And by and large, our traitorous mainstream US MSM, will opiate, dumb-down and/or disinform and distract the American People on absolutely meaningless stuff, like the Grammys and the Oscars or the Super Bowl, and see to this sad outcome, for sure.
There isn't any doubt in my mind. I have seen it time and again throughout my lifetime, and also know American history.

No one can blame Middle Easterns for desiring freedom and elections. But I am not so sure the people, on a whole, are ready for the responsibilities which go with that. Nor that the next leadership won’t bring the same or worse than they have known already.
Reminds me of people who get divorced....all the turmoil and no plans ahead, all trying to retain what’s perceived as theirs. Then when it passes they realize the costs...and the question..Now What? Amazingly they begin looking for a replacement to the very thing they just walked away from, but with all the strings from their former life....alimony, support, wealth lost, and the wake up call they are less “attractive” with all the baggage than before....Reality check!

Iranian lawmakers are demanding that opposition leaders face the death penalty for organizing anti-government rallies in several Iranian cities on Monday.
The conservative lawmakers said Tuesday opposition leaders Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi should be tried for sedition, an offense punishable by death. The two reformists had called Monday's rallies in Tehran and elsewhere to show solidarity with recent Arab uprisings against authoritarian governments.
Mousavi's website says it has "unconfirmed reports" that security forces arrested hundreds of people during the demonstrations, which drew thousands of activists to the streets of the capital in defiance of a government ban.
There are calls for protests everyday at 5PM

I took a class from Russell Kirk years ago. He often quoted a friend as saying something to the effect of “The U.S. Constitution isn’t for export.” Our founding fathers came from a society where they had certain rights guaranteed. It was natural for them to organize their new country with similar freedoms. The people of the middle east (with the exception of Israel) do not share that history. They need to find their own way of self-governance. That it will happen any day soon is certainly complicated by the well-organized Islamic (i.e. evil) influence.
A bit of Pravda redux, no?
