Things in Egypt are looking grim indeed. After weeks of protests and riots, Mubarak finally stepped down. The military has now taken over the country, in a move that many are bizarrely calling "democratic."
This seems incredibly unlikely to bring about an Egypt which is more just and less corrupt.
"Egypt's military dissolved parliament and will run the country for six months or until elections are held, it said in a statement Sunday, two days after President Hosni Mubarak resigned."

The ABC News coverage was practically orgasmic last night. Suddenly a military take over is ‘Democratic’?

No parliament
No Constitution
The streets are filled with the mob
The military is in control
For the Left, this is the best of all possible outcomes for the formation of a Progressive society. Much better than what they had in Egypt last year.

It is interesting to watch how so many American idiot Liberals saw this “revolution” as a lump in the throat moment. A military takeover is a military takeover. I wonder how they would feel if our military took over, shut Congress and chased off our alleged POTUS. Same deal. They should support. I sure do...

People in the West are still cheering about this success for democracy, which is pretty startling. Military takeovers have never been called democratic within my memory. Neither are dissolving parliament or suspending the constitution. I guess some wanted socialism, some wanted sharia, and what they ended up with is neither.

This ends one of two ways: (1) A somewhat secular military dictatorship the will have to slaughter thousands of Muslime Brotherhood followers to keep power or (2) a Muslime Brotherhood theocracy, either ouright or through a puppet, that will slaughter tens of thousands of non-muslimes because that”s what they do.
No other outcome is remotely likely, and outcome (2) is far more likely.

An article on another thread reported that the "ruling council" will exclude any Coptic Christian representatives. That should tell us something about where this blow job is headed.
To: hinckley buzzard
Yup. Could be the worst of (1) and (2) combined: A Muslime Brotherhood throcracy backed by a military dictatorship...

I guess we’ll have to wait and see how this works out, but historically, when the military has taken over in various countries, it’s not anxious to let go of all that power. Put me in the “skeptical” column.

Mass graves will be the new order of the day. History proves it will happen
and the MSM will cover it up as usual.
