The death of a lobbyist in a Capitol Hill garage fire last month has been ruled accidental by the D.C. medical examiner's office, which said Friday that 37-year-old Ashley Turton died from burns and inhaling "products of combustion."

An autopsy also found that "acute alcohol intoxication" contributed to her death, the office said.

Even if you’re a hard partier Sunday night is an evening almost everyone is home. Most of the hard core drunks are even ready to go by Monday morning.

There’s no way radiator coolant caused that type fire. It would be impossible to get a hot enough ignition source to case coolant to burn in that fashion.

These investigators would have looked much less stupid if they would have said “we have no idea how she could have died in such a fashion.” The timing of the acute alcohol intoxication news release at 5PM on a Friday idicates to me the people putting this blather out don’t think it’s believable either.

" Thursday ATF says coolant and headlights caused fire and police say she was passed out with acute alcohol symptoms."

I have had plenty of radiator leaks (top hose) where coolant leak directly on manifold and have never seen it burst into flames (horrible smell yes). Not saying it didn't happen but with a 50/50 mix I don't seen how that is possible. Even funnier is that there is all kinds of warning about poisoning on Antifreeze containers I don't remember ever seeing a "flammable" warning. Hummm

That driveway is flat. It is level with th road. She was backing out around a gold Toyota Camry (and a decorative fence) to get onto the street.

There have been dozens of photos released; and the local news account (video) of the morning of the fire. Anyone who saw any of that would know that the driveway is flat.

As cover stories go, this getting sloppier with each release (meaning wrap it up, make it go away). Warning salvo to others in the ‘know’ sent.

It takes quite a bit to cause a fire when there’s front end damage.

Exactly. I'm wondering where BMW is in all of this. Their engineers must be livid with the speculations on the 'cause' of the fire. The only reason that BMW would be silent is that they have been instructed to do so by this Administration.

Investigators think Turton was backing out of the garage when the BMW rolled forward and struck a work bench, Piringer said. The "low-speed" collision apparently ignited the fire, Piringer said.

How could a car roll forward while backing up? That's not possible, given that the vehicle would be in Reverse at the time.

Also, who gets "acutely" intoxicated at 5 AM before leaving for work? Did this lady have a history of alcohol abuse? The whole scenario is not believable on the surface.

Yeah, amazing that a car can do that (”go forward in reverse”,etc). I just thought maybe they would try to recreate the accident to prove their “ruling”. But maybe that would prove they’re wrong. Sounds like the case is closed...unfortunately.

the husband hasn’t been heard from in the media at all that I’m aware.

*****

He is obviously a protected person, most likely based on his close association with Obama. “Reporters” do not even mention that they have not had a comment from him.

Your synopsis of the media reports sounds like it came from the game, “Clue”. :)

“Yeh right, leaving to go to work totally drunk. It's so ridiculous I can't believe they'd even print it.”

But Shannon, what about our esteemed legislators? You don't think they are able to screw things up as much as they have while sober, do you?:)))

Very good summarization. Where is Dan Turton in all of this? As you mention, he told the firemen that all the family was out. Say what? Neighbors heard and saw the fire in his garage but he didn't?

Imagine if this had been the top Hill aide to George W. Bush.

I’m sure it’ll all be blamed on someone else the adminstration wants to rid itself of.

excerpt:
Ashley Turton’s friends described in Turton a person who had an appetite for possible gossip. In some cases, while discussing a juicy bit of political rumor, Ashley Turton would tell her friends, usually over a glass of wine, that “this conversation needs to go out on the porch.” Ashley Turton confided in a close friend that she wanted to leave Washington and return to North Carolina to raise her family.

Hmmmm and acute alcohol intoxication could you even function at all? Wouldn't you have blacked out long time ago? And even if she didn't black out, would the alarm have even woke her up? Could she have even made it to her car? And she backed the car up??? Do BeeMer's have their engine in the trunk? I use to know all about the older cars, don't no to much about the new ones.

This one stink's like yesterday's diapers.

Color me skeptical....January 10th was a Monday morning. Sunday night into Monday morning is not the typical party night.

That’s recovery night.

Have a look at Section 5 of this MSDS

http://www.havoline.com/images/products/pdfs/anti_exlife.pdf

This material will burn although it is not easily ignited.
Not classified by OSHA as flammable or combustible

What could she have known in her line of work that could have wrecked someone big? Or was her hubby getting tired of her? Was she having an affair? Was her hubby having an affair? Who was she a lobbyist for?

check keyword turton for earlier threads.

Efforts look sloppy to cover up this story.
