CPAC Civil War: Ron Paul Supporters Scream “War Criminal” At Dick Cheney

Things should have been nice and chummy at CPAC an hour ago. Dick Cheney strolled on stage to cheers and the inspirational tune of Tina Turner’s “Simply the Best” and got began to present the “Defender Of The Constitution” award to Donald Rumsfeld. However, as the chants of “USA! USA!” died down, a voice screaming “War criminal!” could be heard. And then, as Cheney continued to talk up his former colleague, a shouting match began between supporters of Ron Paul and the rest of the convention hall.

The Paul supporters eventually walked out in the middle of Rumsfeld’s speech as way of protest. Talking Points Memo managed to nab a quote from one of them:

“‘Uh, Defender of the Constitution?’ Justin Bradfield of Maryland scoffed when I caught up with him after he walked out of Rumsfeld’s speech. ‘Let’s see: he expanded the Defense Department more than pretty much any other defense secretary and he enforced the Patriot Act.’

‘[Speaking] as a libertarian, that’s not really the type of person who should be getting Defender of the Constitution,’ he added.”

Ron Paulers can be just as much a part of the “enemy” as any Democrat. Until you have seen these Paul supporters in action, in person, it might be difficult to understand, but they have made a concerted effort to take over the GOP in WA state and tried for two years in a row to disrupt the state convention and make sure that nothing got accomplished. One of our local Paulers had to be asked to leave.

Every candidate has their weaknesses. If he is truly antisemitic that is a huge failing, but is he?

I've never read anything directly attributable to Paul that was antisemitic, but go to his website and read some of the commentaries and you'll find that antisemites feel free to express themselves at his site.

And I've reached a point where I no longer consider support of Israel as foreign aid, but more as a part of our national defense, which does fall under the responsibilities of our federal government.

Paul's non-interventionism is profoundly naive. It would be a beautifully gift wrapped package to all the despots in the world who have no problem with intervening into other countries governments, and give them the green light to set up puppet regimes. All for the stated purpose of destroying America.

Representative republics in the middle east are essential for America's security.

(found a classic, just not the graphics.)

Introducing the Apple iRon
The Apple iRon is the newest addition to the iPod line-up.
The Apple iRon comes in a groovy tye-dye color print to remind you of your nostalgic hippie years.

The Applie iRon holds only one album and is preloaded with Larry the Cable Guy's Morning Constitutions

Disclaimer:
Even though the term 'Constitution' is used in the title and is said in many lyrics, the album the iRon is loaded with is in no way related to the United States Constitution.
The iRon is known to stick on repeat. This is not a flaw, this is how the iRon works.
The iRon often replaces lyrics with its own.
Do not criticize the performance of the iRon, it will short out the electronics and shock your hand.
The iRon should never be used as a defensive against attack.
The iRon cannot be used as a floatitation device.
The iRon is known to cause cultish and paranoid tendencies.
The iRon is not responsible for 9.11, but it if you play some of the songs backwards, it will blame President Bush for it.
Consult your doctor before using the iRon.

In a related story, Apple also announces a new advertising campaign with the iRon- the iJihad.

According to Steve Jobs, this campaign is meant to reach out to the target audience of the iRon. to add: The iRon does not function in close proximity to the iRaq unless purchased by someone through one of our new iJihad stores.

The iRon can only be used in the iRan shoe if running away from the iJihad store.

The iRon comes with some great accessories including the iShrimp fishing pole, the iSurrender flag, and the iSpam word processor.

The iRon includes a 100% rebate from the US Government. To submit a rebate, include your original receipt, addressed to iRon. The iRon rebate department may look like it is rejecting your rebate, but don’t worry, you’ll get it through backdoor methods.

Judge Napolitino is pro drug legalization I take it, from watching his show.

So was William F. Buckley, Jr. and Ron Paul.

The Communist monkeys representing Ron Paul are not.

Communist? Paul and the Paultards are kooks and freaks, but Communist? There is apparently no standard for pejoratives on FR anymore. So let me break this down for you :
1) Communism - Socially collectivist (in the sense that they enforce the lack of God in everyone) and Economically collectivist.
2) Paultardism - Socially and Economically individualist i.e. Anarchism
3) Conservatism - Socially Collectivist (We want everyone to follow the word of the Lord) and Economically individualist (the free market).

You see, we can have two different kinds of enemies, who are different from each other...

Do you agree that foreign aid is constitutional? It doesn't fit into the enumerated powers. There is no way it can be stretched to fit into the commerce clause. Which part of the Constitution authorizes it?

The Continental Congress didn't seem to have a problem authorizing tribute treaties with Morocco, Algiers, Tunis, and Tripoli...also known as the Barbary States...in the late 1700's. In the end, millions of dollars was spent, much of it borrowed.

Constitutionally speaking, there is likely no operation difference between tribute and aid.

I'd be interested to hear Ron Paul or one of his supporters address this point.

We have had a serious problem with the Ron Paulers in Washington state. They have been making a serious attempt to take over the Republican Party here, disguising themselves as Republicans, getting elected as precinct officers and disrupting the convention with endless objections

We're having the same problem in CO.

In WA, the Paulers ran Clint Didier as a primary challenger to Dino Rossi and he received a lot of early support, until people began to realize that he was aligned with the Libertarians and Ron Paul. Ron Paul’s extreme foreign policy and attitude toward the military is a deal breaker for me.

I think that we have to look hard at some the TEA Party people because I think that the Libertarians actually started the TEA Party and the rest of us just joined them. It worries me for 2012. I believe that many of the Freepers from WA state are Libertarians, not necessarily conservatives.
