Office Of The Director Of National Intelligence “Clarifies” Remarks On Muslim Brotherhood (LOL)

The director of the Office of National Intelligence James Clapper today told a House Intelligence Committee hearing that the Egyptian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood – which seeks Egypt to become an Islamic state ruled by sharia law – is “a very heterogeneous group, largely secular, which has eschewed violence and has decried Al Qaeda as a perversion of Islam.”

The Muslim Brotherhood is quite obviously not a secular organization.

Jamie Smith, director of the office of public affairs for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence later said in a statement to ABC News: “To clarify Director Clapper’s point - in Egypt the Muslim Brotherhood makes efforts to work through a political system that has been, under Mubarak’s rule, one that is largely secular in its orientation – he is well aware that the Muslim Brotherhood is not a secular organization.”

How much the Muslim Brothergood has eschewed violence and decried al Qaeda is subject to debate. Critics of the group point to its ties with Hamas, a terrorist organization according to the US State Department, for instance.

What truly happened was that Clapper was giving the Odumbo regime answer, that is usually happily accepted by the press, to a CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEE. Now that the GOP is in charge, there is a BIG difference between the two.

That's true. Had this been the first few years of the Bill Clinton administration, this ridiculously stupid statement would have been largely ignored successfully covered-up.

The problem is that there are still WAY too many (lazy) people who get their news from the broadcast morning and evening news shows, and a handful of papers. People who want to be fully informed, have a much easier time becoming informed, but the idiots are still at the mercy of the traditional media outlets. Sadly, those idiots vote, too.

Now that Clapper has "corrected" the record, I wonder if it will even be reported on the evening news tonight. I'm not hopeful.

Forget the clarification. Our Director of National Intelligence just publically stated the MUSLIM Brotherhood is a largely secular organization. No one is this stupid. If our entire national intelligence apparatus were really this clueless then we’d be speaking Farsi already. This is not a case of him being an idiot or knucklehead. This can only be part of a conscious, orchestrated effort to deceive. Propaganda. The stupid part was he got carried away and said something easily rebutted. You will never convince me this administration is not working hand in hand with the jihadists to advance the Islamic agenda.

Clapper's explanation is so weak as to defy belief.

Obviously this guy sought to put as good a face as possible on the Moslem Brotherhood ~ but his "whopper generator" seems to have served him up a "cr*p sandwich" rather than a "real meat pie".
