David Keene, the longtime chairman of the American Conservative Union, stepped down on Wednesday as the leader of the organization, one day ahead of the first of its annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
Keene had chaired the organization since 1984 and will still preside over the annual conservative gathering. His impending exit had been anticipated, but not the timing.
Al Cardenas was selected to succeed Keene. Cardenas was born in Cuba in 1948, and has been a player in conservative politics since the Reagan presidency.
“I look forward to taking advantage of the new energies we see today in the conservative movement to make this storied organization even more influential in the future” said Cardenas in a press release.
Here's a hint for you - if gays are trying to shove their agenda off onto our schoolkids (which they are), then the issue isn't about what "goes on in their bedrooms."
THAT is simply a libertarian red herring which has absolutely nothing to do with this debate WHATSOEVER.
I do not believe for one second that a “gay proud” person can also be a Conservative.
I do, however, believe that a “gay proud” person or group of gays can try to sabotage an entire Conservative movement by trying to infiltrate/destroy via political correctness.
CPAC is a joke.
Can we please be rid of this guy davidosborne? I was okay with him until he started pushing the Bill Escoffery thing, when I started asking to be taken off of his ping list, to no avail. Then he endorsed Alex Sink for governor of Florida, publicly, right here on FreeRepublic. All he does is come on here and hijack threads to spam his GOOOH website and now he’s insulting anyone who doesn’t want to be a part of his ping list, as if by asking to be removed, we are all part of a conspiracy. It’s really pathetic.

I have reviewed my ping list and noticed that RightFighter was on 2 separate lists which were merged and I have corrected the duplicate entry and completely removed RightFighter from my current list per his PUBLIC request.

My postings for Dr. Bill Escoffery were when he was running in the PRIMARY against the beloved Marco Rubio who REFUSED to debate him because he made a strageic decision that debating him would not help his poll numbers and could only hurt him.. on one can blame him for that decision, but I called him on it and was called a liberal for not supporting the GOP/RINO in the primary.. My so-called endorsement of Alex Sink was SARCASM, and my refusal to publicly endorse Rick Scott was over a SINGLE ISSUE.. the FRS... my position as Florida Director of GOOOH is part of who I am and my personal views DO NOT reflect the views and opinions of the GOOOH organization since GOOOH (as an organization) has no platform each GOOOH member defines their OWN platform and must compete on a level playing field with other GOOOH members in their district for to become the GOOOH candidate for the U.S. House of Representaives in 2012.. Did I miss anything?
