Just imagine the roles reversed, so that it would be a big joke when two whites knocked out a black woman “by accident.”

Yeah, like that would ever be aired... LOL

What came to my mind was the fact that it is so accepted that women can act out violently against men. Imagine getting hit in the head with a can full of Pepsi.

If the guy had been hit, I can see a lot of women whooping it up and saying, “Right on!”

The silly thing here is that white women would have signed on just as easily as black women. I don’t see this as a racial add. The message clearly speaks to women of any race.

Sheila just thought the skit should have been set
on Mars...then it would have been funny.

First time I heard of this was today, on Rush’s show. I don’t find it funny and find it offensive. Especially considering the level of black on white crime in this country, which gets ignored or condoned or explained away. It is OK to hate whites or Christians or straights or men or conservatives today.

I was offended that the ads were universally dull or stupid or both.

Super bowl ads are supposed to be special. that was a stupid ad. But nothing really racist about it, ‘cept that, when you think about it, a black woman would be more likely to throw something at her man than a white woman.

(I could be wrong about that)

AND THAT is what Sheila is reacting to.

IF the roles had been reversed (excuse me, the 'races'), the 'black' community leaders would have immediately perceived it as RACIST and ran screaming to the talk shows.

HOWEVER, none of the 'white' community leaders (nor the 'whites' who viewed it) saw it as racist at all.

I saw it, I thought it was funny. It was a shock to see the girl get hit, which was the key to the commercial's success.

Nowhere in 'my' reaction was there even the least thought about race. The biggest reaction I had to the PEPSI commercials was that they kept portraying the guys as being BIG WUSSES.
