Another phenomena that I have found is that most petroleum companies donate heavily to enviro-wacko movements/programs. I guess they think they’re appeasing them or, might they be playing both sides? Probably.
It simply keeps oil prices high.
We are already deep into Global Corporatism. Most of the left/right arguments about the matter are quaint and silly...and would have mattered 40 years ago. Most people are so far behind the curve, it is the equivalent of worrying about termites while the house is burning to the ground. Arguing about a 30 billion dollar cut here or there is really laughable. It is the equivalent of Mark Cuban clipping a 10 cent coupon.
