Thank you!
I would say more anti-gay agenda than anti-gay.
Why didn’t she just say that when asked in the interview with CBN?
It should have been easy. Why do others have to look up what should have been an easy answer to a question?
“Palin is anti-gay.”
Thanks be to God.
A lot probably depends on how one defines "gay rights." Are we talking equal rights or special rights?
Just saying that I wouldn't necessarily trust the judgment of a blogger who previously posted the blog entry Like a rug, Sarah Palin is a Liar.
The pro-gay blogs have a reason to want to paint Sarah Palin in the worst possible light. I wouldn't give them the rope to hang her with, by pretending they are a useful source of opinion on her views.
Much better to just let her explain her position. I have a feeling she is not nearly as "anti-gay" as some of her supporters are. You don't have to be against gays to be against gays in the military, or be for traditional marriage. But until she makes it clear, I don't think we'll know one way or another.
Palin’s first concern about DADT is timing, not the policy itself.
I’m not impressed with her punting the issue off into the future.
REFUDIATE = a combination of refute and repudiate? To do so especially DEFINITIVELY? Good word! Hehe.
Depends how one defines “gay rights”.
If that means the right to be left alone and live their lives free of harassment, then yes, a whole lot of Conservatives would support gay rights.
If it means doing damage to the culture through things like “gay marriage” and adoption rights, then we do not.
RE: GAY “RIGHTS”
I’ve never understood the need for more “RIGHTS” for homosexuals. What rights do they not have that all Americans have?
I hate to see conservative writers surrender to the homosexual agenda by using the word “gay” to mean homosexual.
homos dont have rights. where is my right to use gay? [happy] to use fag? [cigarette]
Sarah Palin is against spousal benefits for same-sex couples
But she used her first veto as governor to block a bill that would have prohibited the state from granting health benefits to same-sex partners of public employees.
So which is it?
Yes, Sarah Palin does Support Gay Rights.
1) The right to own a firearm for self defense
2) The right to trial by jury
3) The right to free speech
4) The right to worship in the religion of their choice
5) The right to free assembly
The homosexuals have the same rights as the rest of us.
What the homosexuals want are special privileges.
Well, Ive never attended a CPAC conference ever so I was a little taken aback this go around when I couldnt make it to this one either and then there was a speculation well I either agree or disagree with some of the groups or issues that CPAC is discussing. It really is a matter of time for me. But when it comes to and David, perhaps what it is that youre suggesting in the question is should the GOP, should conservatives not reach out to others, not participate in events or forums that perhaps are rising within those forums are issues that maybe we dont personally agree with? And I say no, its like you being on a panel shoot, with a bunch of the liberal folks whom you have been on and you provide good information and balance, and you allow for healthy debate, which is needed in order for people to gather information and make up their own minds about issues. I look at participation in an event like CPAC or any other event, along, or kind of in that same vein as the more information that people have the better.
Conservatives can find someone more principled with better judgment that is more electable than Palin. Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain and Jim DeMint to name a few come to mind.
I don’t see anything here that says she is anti-gay. She doesn’t support their agenda but that doesn’t mean she is against gay people.
Athough I agree Palin is probably against gay marriage, I think she’s being a bit coy here and playing both sides of the gay rights thingy. I’m not going to get down on her on this as every politician does this to some degree on certain issues. I’m convinced her sincere political stance is the Christian conservative one until I see strong evidence to the contrary. I don’t think that’s going to happen.
Q: Do you support, as they do in Alaska, granting same-sex benefits to couples?
BIDEN: Absolutely positively. Absolutely no distinction from a legal standpoint between a same-sex and a heterosexual couple. Thats only fair.
Q: Would you support expanding that beyond Alaska to the rest of the nation?
PALIN: Well, not if it goes closer and closer towards redefining the traditional definition of marriage between one man and one woman. And unfortunately thats sometimes where those steps lead. I dont support defining marriage as anything but between one man and one woman, and I think through nuances we can go round and round about what that actually means. Im being as straight up with Americans as I can in my non- support for anything but a traditional definition of marriage.
Q: Lets try to avoid nuance. Do you support gay marriage?
BIDEN: No. We do not support that. That is a decision to be able to be left to faiths.
PALIN: My answer is the same as his and it is that I do not.
