MANSFIELD (CBSDFW.COM) Some Students at Mansfield ISD schools could soon be learning Arabic as a required language. The school district wants students at select schools to take Arabic language and culture classes as part of a federally funded grant. The Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP) grant was awarded to Mansfield ISD last summer by the U.S. Department of Education. As part of the five-year $1.3 million grant, Arabic classes would be mandatory at Cross Timbers Intermediate School and Kenneth Davis Elementary School. The program would also be optional for students at T. A. Howard Middle School and Summit High School.

This is not about the language. This is indoctrination.
Mansfield ISD says in addition to language, the grant provides culture, government, art, traditions and history as part of the curriculum.

Its not about the language, it comes with a lot more than language. Mansfield ISD says in addition to language, the grant provides culture, government, art, traditions and history as part of the curriculum.

I think Spanish would be a better choice as it has almost replaced English in some parts of this country. I suppose Arabic will be needed to live under the new global Caliphate that Obama is hastening to happen.

Obviously America will need more Arabic speaking Christian overlords to rule over vassal Muslim nations in the future.

If I were in the Oil & Gas business, understanding Arabic would be a very advantageous thing.
This could wind up biting the libtards in the rear. What if these kids learn Arabic, and figure out what the mooselimbs are Really saying?
Still, it's the Mandatory bit that really pisses me off...

The Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP) grant was awarded to Mansfield ISD last summer by the U.S. Department of Education.I can't think of a better reason to erase the US Department of Education. If any of my children had been forced to learn a specific language other than English, by DC or local bureaucrats, I would have changed schools.
I have no problem with multilinguism, most of my family is bilingual, and three of us are trilingual. The problem is the government deciding for me. I got to choose the languages that interested me.
I have even considered learning arabic, as a choice. To eavesdrop on mass murderers stalking my country.
I might change to Chinese. They may now be the only culture able to confront the animals head on.

More than half of the content of the Web is in Chinese. Learning Mandarin makes far more sense. Besides, they make some great costume movies.

Japanese is still a good language to learn if you’re interested/involved in robotics or Computer Science, IMO.

Learning Mandarin makes far more sense. Besides, they make some great costume movies.By far, my favorite quality about the Chinese is that, in war, they have only ONE rule of Engagement: Win.
Always have; always will.

Yeah, but the 80s were the boom of manga and anime (Captain Harlock, Lupin, City Hunter...) And even then I don’t remember it as a mandatory class.
