Man given 1-year term for child rape dies in jail

Mcalester, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities say an Oklahoma man whose one-year sentence for raping a child sparked national outrage has died in jail.
Pittsburg County Sheriff Joel Kerns told the McAlester News Capital that David Earls died about 2:30 p.m. Saturday at a McAlester hospital, where he was taken after developing flu-like symptoms.

Corrupt judge. O'Reilly did an expose of this a while back I think. It sounds as if his 1 year term has been converted into an eternal sentence - in hell.

Every now and then you find some justice in the world. I hope those flu like symptoms were extremely painful, but not too painful that he lost consciousness. One less scumbag to worry about becoming a repeat offender.

There’s probably a whole slew of convicts that are upset that they didn’t get him before the flu did. And the fact that this piece of human debris got a one-year sentence is cause for an investigation in itself. On the upside, jail was nothing compared to what he’s facing now.
