JERUSALEM The US "desertion" of its long-time ally President Hosni Mubarak in the face of protests shaking the Egyptian regime has angered Israel, with analysts warning of consequences for the turbulent Middle East.
Until now, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government has held back from any public criticism of the US position, to avoid a row with US President Barack Obama.
But Washington's change of heart towards the embattled Egyptian president has not passed unnoticed in Israel, where the dominant reaction has been one of criticism -- in government circles, among analysts and in the press.
"One gets the impression that Washington was pretty anxious to throw Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak overboard" once he became a cumbersome ally, a senior Israeli official told AFP, on condition of anonymity....

And that's what emanating from the White House. Overruling Frank Wisner after sending him in, just adds to the incoherence.
The Obama Adminsistarion enmeshing itself in entangling messages might free Israel's hand, though.
Loyalty does not exist among the elites. Can you imagine being in the front lines of combat and being ordered to share a foxhole with Obama? You couldn’t focus on the guns in front of your face for fear of the knife behind your back.
I sure hope Netanyahu knows that it is not the US...this is solely Obama and his minions.
Apparently after Wisner was sent on his mention with his talking points one of obama’s muslims rulers, one of the ones he bows to, told him to change his tune and it was too late to get word to Wisner.
When the time comes, Israel hopefully now realizes it needs to take out Iran’s nukes on its own: no help is going to be coming from this WH.
Obama’s incompetence or mendacity (or both) IS going to result in a real shooting war in the Middle East. The only question is how far across the world will it spread...
I also hope he understands and makes plans for the eventuality that Israel is going to be attacked and America will do nothing (or will support the attackers covertly).
He’s had warnings, of course, for thousands of years, written down in the books of the prophets.
You are so right.
And you can be sure Saudi Arabia is not amused either.
People keep advising Obama to learn from Carter's mistakes. He has, but not in the way they mean. Obama's goal is to pick up where Carter left off, just without Carter's ineptitude. Obama is succeeding at the former, the jury is still out on the latter.
I’m sure the Saudis and others in ME OPEC at sh*tn in their head garb. Zero is very dangerous and he is using the ME as the cornerstone for a global meltdown - cut off the oil.
Note to Israel:
1.As long as the kenyan usurper's regime is in power, don't count on the US for anything, and certainly don't share any secrets with us.
2. Advise your followers in the US that voting for 0bama is suicidal.
Obama’s been up and down about the situation in Egypt, and has displayed a split personality about it; never really committing one way or the other, voting “present”, that’s always worked before.
I don’t know how anyone could keep Mubarak in power without a massive military intervention.
The majority of the public wants him gone and we should respect that. The important thing we should be concerned with is preventing some extremist faction from seizing power.
Frankly, Mubarak is also 82 yrs old, so it would have been his time sooner or later anyway.
It's pretty obvious that Obama's sympathies are with the MB. His public vacillation on Egypt is only because he hasn't come up with a good cover for his true intentions yet.
With the minions, unfortunately, including many thousands of Jews who approve of Obama and his policies.
We foretold this.
Mossasd needs to start reading FR.
We knew.
What? This is perfect consistency. All our friendly, supported allies have been alienated by 0boz0 while he sucks up to those who hate America.
Why is anyone surprised?
